I’m so excited!!!

...Based on your above statements I would go Jurassic any day of the week and twice on Sunday...

I agree. I have a couple of gen 4 XM-18s (the detent is fine on mine), an MP-1, and a Jurassic. The Jurassic is the most comfortable to hold and works very well as a user for both slicing and piercing.

Well guys and gals, after some extensive research and a few phone calls, I have decided to go with the Hinderer Jurassic. Lords willing I will head south to the big knife store in Sevierville (can’t mention name) to make the purchase. I am still not sure which color to go with. I like blue, black, grey, and tan. Thanks for all of the replies, I can’t wait to bring one home with me.

Happy for you, the good thing with the Hinderers is you can always swap a scale later on, so go with whatever you like best when you see them in person. And don't fret about not getting a new knife for a while, next tax refund is coming in a year :D

When I have a few dollars to blow, I may look into getting some custom scales for it. A 425 dollar knife deserves to be dolled up a little. Lol

Get one with an eyeball!

You know....Hinderer should do a picture frame version, where you can add your own picture between the scale and the clear plastic outer shell. "Look honey I bought a 500$ knife, but it has our wedding picture on it" "Awww. That's sweet." I'm sure it'll help out a few married knife nuts justify their purchases to their spouses. :D

It’ll go so something like this. “Awww how sweet darling....... Wait!!! YOU PAID 500 DOLLARS FOR THAT!!!!! “ Then in the dog house I go...... with my knife.

I think you'll really like the Hinderer Jurassic ... I like my XM-18 but as others mentioned ... if I had to pick between the Hinderer XM-18 and the CRK Insingo (especially the Inkosi Insingo) I'd go CRK ...

but if you want a hard use knife that is comfortable the Jurassic might have a slight edge over the XM-18 or CRK Insingo ...

Totally different knives all 3 and think you'd be happy with any one of the three ... but if you chose the Jurassic I think you'll be happy ...

you can always try the others later on ... and if like most of us ... probably will ... lol

Congrats on the Jurassic!

I like the eyeball scales. It's all about looks. (See what I did there?)

I do like them though. They're silly. Nice to see some humor in amongst the sea of tactical operator knives, while maintaining a useful tool of course.

If it were priced more reasonably I'd have one.

I don't hate the idea, more the execution I guess, it doesn't need to be photorealistic, but on a knife that costs hundreds of dollars I'd expect something better looking than what I can do in 5 Minutes in MS Paint. Like make the frame dark green, match the skin color of the dino to the green, add a bit more detail to the drawn scales and the eye, maybe give it a slight shine to it. But then again I don't consider a bunch of classic well regarded artists as artists (or at least certain phases they had

)
But yeah, I agree in general that we can use a dose of color and humor/art in knives to counter the blactical knives.

What'd you do there? :D

Eye think you've been overlooking the pun visible in his post. But eye could have a wrong optics on the matter.
:D

While I like me some Hinderer, I would go with a CRK either a Inkosi or Umnumzaan. I have been carrying a zaan exclusively for the last year at work and its just a great knife.
