I’ve got it bad now....

I have and old school (metal) 10/22 and a newer one. I have a Marlin 935 and my old Winchester bolt 22.

You’re right. I used to get great deals at the the big Dallas shows. There were always three big shows a year. Now I mostly go just go to look around and get some exercise, or at least that’s what I tell my wife:)

Oh man, those Kimbers 22s. Don’t get me started. I found a CZ 452 that gives me MOA out of the box and I’m quite happy with it. My buddy bought one at the same time and his will outshoot mine all day. Luck of the draw...
Those big shows at Market Hall were good ones. When I lived there, I barely knew about gun shows. I recall being in Fort Worth and seeing all these guys in camo and carrying their AR's in the early 80's.... gun show. The Louisville KY shows (National Gun Day) were always my favorite.

Most of the 452's shot really well. I have a varmint and the trainer with sights. I had the bright idea that I needed an accurate bolt 22 with good sights. I say "idea" because it almost never gets shot and if I want to shoot open sights, I have a Mauser 45A that is fun to shoot. I have done almost the same thing with knives more than a couple times.

Hi Monofletch,

Congrats on your new Sig! This is a very nice gun! Before trying one I thought that this is another Gucci pistol but Sig made some really nice upgrades to already exceptional P226! I like the undercut on the frame and X-Ray sights! The low profile controls are very nice, especially if you use thumbs forward grip!
I saw your Glock 43 another good gun! However, nothing compares to shooting all steel pistol! Check out Sig P210A Target or Standard, or German Sig X5. Best of luck with your new Sig!!!

Thanks! I will shoot it this week.

I carried a 1911 and the M9 in the Army so I know all steel guns. I was looking for an m9 or 92fs when I came across these two!

I'm ready for the looters and rioters.

Take my ccw course at the end of the month.

Need to get a carry gun. I'm thinking:

Walther P99 compact or PPQ compact
HK of some sort
Steyr C9-A2

K.O.D. K.O.D. love the Ruger slab side.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Ruger. Mostly hate.

I love shooting it. When it shoots. It will only feed CCI ammo.

I hate cleaning/maintaining it.

It was my 20th birthday present (1999). So parting with it is difficult. But I've considered it.

Just added this to the stable:

Oh man, I saw your Ruger, I assume Mark 2 Competition, brought back lots of memories! I had Mark 3 Competition for a few years and used it for Bullseye matches. As you pointed out, I had “mostly hate” relationship with it! My Mark 3 was very rough inside, I disassembled the gun completely and spent a few hours deburring and polishing internal surfaces, after couple of parts broke down in the middle of a match I replaced almost all internals with Volquartsen parts, and lastly the dreaded disassembly/reassembly “insert curse words”
I really like your Steyr C9 pistol, I shot M9A1 what an awesome gun, ergonomics and trigger are exceptional! Does yours have trapezoid sights?

It's also an M9-A1, and yes, I love the trapezoidal sights.

Great, now I want a new Sig... thanks guys.

Get up, come on get down with the Signess!

Ok yes that was cheesy.

I also cleaned my Beretta PX4 last night.

Today I'll be clean the Ruger (cringe) and yes it's s Mark II Government Competition Model.

My cousin, who lives on the north side of Chicago, wants to buy a gun and learn to shoot. He's shot once before years ago, but I'll be starting him on the Ruger.

I'm pretty sure I've got him convinced on a regular p365. He's a smaller guy, 5'7" 160lbs, and if it is comfortable for my 6'3.5" 230lb frame, it should be perfect for him. Especially with Cook county's 10rd mag limit. Thankfully I am 40 miles from Chitcago and don't have to worry about that bull.

I never thought I would enjoy shooting such a small gun, but even in my big hands it's wonderful. I put a Pearce grip extension on the flush mount mag, and mail call brought in a 12rd extended mag, which I put the grip extension on.

I have a Ruger P95and I love it. I had a P85 but sold it. I still have my Ruger 10/23 from the early 80’s.... when they were made out of metal.

When I first saw the picture of trapezoid sight, my first reaction was negative, I honestly thought that this is another tacticool marketing move. However after trying M9 with these sights, I was pleasantly surprised how well they work.
As for Sig, my relationship with Sig pistols are complicated I had an awesome P229 in 9mm when I was in college, had to sell it to cover my college expenses. Few years later I was closing a deal on German made Sig X6, when Sig in Germany got hit with a lawsuit and all import stopped. So the store raised the prices and I had to pass on X6. I think I might get M11-A1 this year. I did not have a chance to try P365, from what I heard a lot of people like it especially the trigger!
Starting your cousin with the 22 is an excellent idea. Low noise, virtually no recoil, and inexpensive ammo. Best of luck to you guys, have fun at the range!!!

I decided I really liked the “I just F’ing shot myself” holster.... so, I bought one for my Legion. Yes, the Black Hawk SERPA with the little paddle switch. This thing is awesome!! I don’t get all the hate.
