I admit that I am a treehugger...

Killer Grips and phenomenal pics!

I'm a wheel gun guy at heart!

As for a nice .270 at a crazy low price, look at the new Marlin line. It features the Savage accutrigger, and the one I have is a great shooter!!! :D

Jerry :D

Being an old fart and a lover of the classics (1911, Hipower, Model 94, model 65, etc.), if I were buying another .270 it would be a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight.

For a rifle chambered in .270 Winchester, I am somewhat biased by Cooper Arms' rifles, and their M52 action would be a great choice. Of course, you're at a higher price point, but it will be ready to roll from day one. Here is my dad's M52 Classic in .30-06 with a French Walnut stock:

(As you can clearly see, my dad is also a tree hugger, as evidenced by his extensive collection of walnut that is embracing the actions of many rifles.)

I don't know if its an optical reflection of a lens but it doesn't look like his finger will fit into the trigger guard? Nice wood.

Thats a nice Winchester. I have heard a lot of good stuff about Cooper, but never looked them up, they make some nice looking rifles.
