I won!
But I don't feel like a winner. No contract, no money (I negotiated a one-off payment with Mike prior to "winning" and that money was getting paypalled to me over a month ago) and certainly no sight of the first sign up bonus ($1000) promised as part of the contest.
This belongs in GBU under ugly but I've posted here as many forumites were involved in the design contest (and subsequent controversy) and I'm sure many would like an update on how Mike's improved business practices are panning out.

Well, well, apparently I'll get paypalled tomorrow. Let's see...
Apparently, the first sign-up bonus promised in the contest is open to interpretation...somehow...seems pretty clear to me but I've been called a dumbass before :)

I am not going to say good or bad things about anyone here B/C I haven't been around long enough and you both seem like good people. I hope everything works out. I am going to buy allot of the new designed knives. Mike has been busy lately and hopefully you will get your money tomorrow. It does only take about 5 minutes to PayPal. And I am sure he will make it right, JUST my 2 unwelcomed cents.

Lordy, I AM a winner! :D I made a little noise and lo! I have been paid and have a copy of the contract to sign. All's well that ends well. Whining mode off, smiling mode on...
:D :D :D

Guys keep in mind this was not a one man band thing. The partner I have (Kevin from Provantus) was not sure how to proceed as David wanted to be paid via Pay Pal and not a check. So he had to create a Pay Pal account and being Chinese there was a lot he had to do, more so than any of us. Also there was a miscommunication which was partly my fault as I thought we had cleared this about 3 weeks ago with David. David was waiting on the design fee and Kevin was waiting on the contract. Normally before someone gets paid the contract gets signed. But we did it in reverse as a sign of good faith.

The other bonus from the contest is my responsibility and that happens when the knife is produced.

Dav,

What part of the following are you not understanding?
The first person to get a design in that we approve to be built will get a $1,000 bonus on top of the other $$$ you will make! This applies to all designs submitted after todays date. The $1,000 will be paid 30 days after your knife goes into production.

That is taken directly from the post I made months ago so stop busting my chops each chance you get to about it, OK?

Now as far as the designs and what is going on.

We have the first catalog under our belt. The last 3 weeks I have have been putting it together and it was printed yesterday. Also I was in LA and LV for the last 10 days prior to Monday putting the final touches on the marketing efforts. Now with that out of the way we are looking towards the next line or products to debut at the Shot Show and you will be seeing more designs there. Some of the designs sent in need major mods so bear with me while we work on them. This ain't no overnight process and takes months to put together so just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Also on a side note we took over the Wolf Pup project from another company for Tom Anderson as he was getting royally screwed. The first production from that just landed 8 days ago so Tom will be finally seeing the fruits of his labor soon on that design.

I am trully amazed at how fast we were able to put this whole thing together. Now we must plan very carefully for the next step. It is more than just throwing designs at you guys. The investors are looking for results not designs. I can sit here and design knives all day, now it is up to you guys to show them you like the designs. So knock down the door at your favorite dealers and tell them to contact us to get these products on their shelves when they come in.

Send all future emails on the BOSS or LILE line to either
boss@wowinc.com
or
lile@wowinc.com

Stay Tuned! And wait until you see the next batch of knives we got coming!

Love you too :)

I love having my chops busted anyway. It keeps me on my toes!

Now that that issue is behind us, let's have some fun :D

Still belongs in GBU - moving it now.

Kevin
