Amazed in a good way. I have participated in other forums before, but there is really something different going on here. I've seen people go out of their way to be unbelievably helpful to other members. I've seen people trade knives and even pass them around and nobody gets screwed! Its amazing! I'm serious, it's halfway restored my faith in humanity!

About a week ago I asked a question on the maintenance forum about ideas for making a lanyard to attach my key to one of my knives. One of the forum members, bimjo, posted a pic of one that looked perfect. I told him that and asked him about how he made it. Well, he just took it upon himself to make a couple more and mailed them to me. Just to be nice! They arrived a couple of days ago and they are perfect. Thank you very much Bimjo! That was BEYOND cool!! Guess I'm going to have to do something nice now and pass that along. I like that idea.
 
Definitely some great humans here. It's kind of infectious and has caused me to do several giveaways just because the community is very giving- not only of material things, but of knowledge and willingness to assist others.
 
It's really Kool here, the give aways, the help, advice, and there is a common bond we share even if we get off topic sometime. It always comes back to knives.
 
Yeah, we can all be cool most of the time. But if you go check out my profile, I've had my days. Yeah, infractions and warnings. Got to stop posting while intoxicated! Whiskey and I get along just fine. LOL ;-)
 
Agreed. I'm new to BF but have seen an abundance of knowledge and kindness floating around. Heck Charlie Mike even gave away a Waved Sebenza to celebrate an amazing sobriety milestone. I really love it here.
 
Ive come here so many times for help/advice even before I was a member. My only criticism is too many posters who always want new members to google past threads as opposed to asking a question. Even then, other members step in right away to give helpful advice. So yeah, great forum.
 
Agreed, it really is different from any other forum on the net. There really is something unique about people's passion for knives and how they relate and/or incorporate that into their contributions to this forum. I'm not going to try to explain or even theorize as to why that is other than to say a knife is a working man's tool, and for the most part, a working man is usually a solid, down to earth, grounded in their beliefs, type individual. I admit that my description is weak and ill-defined, but the type of person that I speak of can't really be put into words. You'll know one when you meet one and they readily recognize their own.
 
Folks here are so willing to help, even the Mods join in on the threads and there are so many industry professionals more than willing to share their tricks of the trade. RiverRat84 extended his friendship as soon as I joined this forum. BladeChick777 generously offered to show me how to tie different lanyards. All the folks in the CRK & Traditional Forums made me feel welcomed.

I evaluated my time here and concluded that this is indeed an insightful and valuable forum, and not just for knives either. It's the folks here that made me decide to give a little something back for all the knowledge and camaraderie that's available to everyone free of charge. So, I decided to obtain a paid membership.
 
It truly is an amazing place.

I've been a member here for many years, and a member at several other forums. None compare in terms of generosity and helpfulness. I've made a number of friends that I really wish I could hang out with in person. That's the only downside. Still, I do consider them "real" friends and some I chat with on the phone. I've done some back and forth shipping of items (not trading or sales mind you) and that's always fun too. There's something particularly special about a knife that was given or received just because you wanted to do it. ;) :thumbup:
 
Great community filled with top-notch people! Nothing like it anywhere......wish people in my town were this nice!!!!
 
I just received a buck knife from a give away by Vege taco, really cool plus he gave me a care package with a lot of other stuff, lanyard, multi tool, flashlight, monkey fist, knife true north knife towel, another small light for my keys
And 2 bandaids . Ha. How Kool is that.
