After another trying year I am finally getting to have my shop time back.Haven't made anything for awhile as I had my head so messed up thinking to hard about how bad I was at making knives and shouldent even be trying to pass the MS test :grumpy: I just had to take a little time out do some other things around the house that needed to be done and spend some quality time with my 3 favorite ladies and re think were I was in my knifemaking.Decided to put all the casting and fancy stuff away and just make knives and pass this test.Got one finished late New Years eve night and boy did it feel GREAT :D Now to get on the orders that I am behind on and get the shop back to running again,Plus make the rest of the Knives to be judged for my Ms.
Great to be back here more often also, missed everybody..
Here is the one I finished,a hopeful for my Judging (Going to send it out to have it critiqued and see if it will pass).
9 inch cutlass ground Damascus blade, wagon wheel wrought iron guard,Elk stag mortise tang handle at 4 1/2 inches long and NS pins to hold it all together..(Even got Donna to model with it real quick)

Bruce, you need to be back. If you can't get back at it why should my caliber stick around? Wondering where you were all this time.

Bruce, Good to see you back at it! How'd you like the wrought iron? I had got you messages but we were out of town for a few days.......

RLinger,You are doing Great without my impute,I have been lurking around once in awhile and have seen some of your work,Looks great

Ray,The wrought Iron I have has more impurities in it than I would like it to have,But it still worked great,After reading through my new Bowie Book I noticed allot of the older Bowies had steel guards,This new book shows some really cool Bowies that werent just show room quality Bowies and folders.I will try and call you later in the week.
Bruce

Bruce, you and all us here have always been very kind to me. The truth is my good ain't your great. That's enough now. I've said it and I believe it. With that though, I do keep looking up and do keep reaching for the next rung in the ladder. Just glad to see you back here on a regular basis, I hope. No more ada boys please. This one is about you only.

RL

I think you have that backwards,my Great doesn't match your GOOD..ok I said it :D :D
Now that is enough :p You are doing Great work so don't sell yourself short.
I hope I will be back regular myself,Now that I have a computer in the shop I can work on knives and keep track of the forums at the same time
Bruce

Okay but please allow me to get the last word in. It will be short and painless. It is, just as ONLY ONE example, your tutorials that have helped a many of us. No Bruce - you da man for a whole lot of us.

Okay I got the last word in :)

Welcome back Bruce, nice to hear from you! Looking forward to seeing more of your knives again.

Why do get the feeling that you got a nudge from someone Bruce.

Glad to see you back making knives. A talent like yours is a shame not use. Good luck on the test!

Let me echo that and add: what a nice photo of Donna (the knife is nice also).
:)

Bruce glad to see your back. Your one of the reasons i had jumped headlong into this knife makeing addiction last march.

The dragon slayer returns. Bout time :)

Give me a holler some time Bruce. It's been a while.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Welcome back, Bruce! Nice bowie, too! Hey, you mentioned a bowie book. Which one are you speaking of?

welcome back Bruce :D
and Donna is looking good as ever say hey to her for me please. :)

computer in the shop Cool welcome to the diehard tool time lets make some knives, stops are pulled and motor rev ved up..or is it forge heated up? :D

I think we all 2nd guess ourselves at some point I do and I'm not sure if it holds me back or makes me better? it can be a fine line., like, is it for money or the love of the Blade? work or for fun.. full time an't easy for sure so the love of it for me takes over..

PSSSSST! Did Donna happen to get any new water wardrobe this year that she'd be modeling ;) I don't know about the others but I've missed Donna around here too :( I still picture her with the hammer at the forge :D

nice Bowie to get back going on Bruce welcome back.
another month or so I may end up taking a brake, may have a house to build about 50 miles from here..it sucks that Vickie is traveling 100 miles round trip to work 5 days a week. :grumpy: the gas costs and wear and tear will almost pay the new mortgage..

Glad to see you back Bruce. I was hoping you hadn't gone for good. The work you do and skills you posess are too fine to be lost. I'm looking forward to seing more of your work and maybe meeting you at Blade this year. I'd love to shake the hand of the fella that makes all those fine knives. :) Welcome back.

Darn glad to have you back Bruce. You've been missed. Your bowies are what my daughter would say, "The total bomb" ( that's a good thing) :p
