This is a first for me,but I thought everyone might enjoy it any way. A few weeks ago my teen daughter said to me "Dad one of my friends carries a pocket knife with her and I thought that was pretty neat" (as if to
say"where is mine"). So as I am a knife addict I offered her a choice of a Native3 or Delica that were just waiting to be used, carried, and fondled. She
chose the Delica and carries it with her all the time and practices her opening skills. My boys carry Natives and they love 'em. My wife carries a SAK, I'm still working on her. Now when I think it cant' get better my daughter asks me to take her to the range and teach her to shoot!!! I truly am BLESSED!!!
And yes I showed her how to use the knife and firearm properly.
Thanks for putting up with my ramblings I'm still on cloud 9.
God Bless,
Tracy

Wow, you are blessed indeed.

I'm still a little young for kids, but I still think about all the stuff I'm going to have ready for my son. . .or daughter ;)

That's great! You're lucky! Just make sure your kids don't forget and take their knives to school, because some stupid kid will surely rat them out, and your child's life will be ruined. "For the greater good", you know.

My wife just asked me if I would take her shooting with me, and I couldn't have been more excited! Oh, if I could only get her hooked on shooting, how great would that be?
Pretty great! No more buying guns on the sly! I might even teach her the code to the safe!

Just be careful, this could balloon out of control. My younger son picked up my knife interest. He started small, and then I got him a Native. Then he wanted a mini-Skirmish. Then a Buck Mayo. Then he took possession of my Bark River Highland just after I got it. You get the idea.

Fortunately for me, he hasn't tried to inherit my Para or UKPK yet.

And yes, he and his older brother enjoy the shooting sports a lot. He is constantly bugging me that we need to go shooting again. Twist my arm!

To all thanks for the replies. I would hate to have to buy a knife for one of the kids because that means that I would have to buy the same knife for myself (safety first you know). Maybe somebody would like a Captain or a Para? Maybe I'll ask.
God Bless
Tracy

My daughter was 12 years old when she laid claim to my Bark River Woodland :p.
For the time being, its still in my charge. I figure I have about five more good years with my Barkie before I have to give it up for good.

I made the same mistake with my Remington Nylon 66. My son was promised the little plinker when he was a kid. Little did I know that he'd grow up so quick.

Congrats on raising your little ones to appreciate the finer things (Spyderco's) :D
