I was not in the mood for hand sanding but wanted to do something in the garage so I grabbed a piece of O1 given to me by Dan Seaver. After seeing the shop knife thread I figured I would make me one. It took me around an hour and a half. profile, flat grind, drill, and even tried a little vine filework. This little guy is ready to be sent out to Peter's for heat treating tomorrow. My record was 5 hrs of work. Its a small knife, so it went fast.
How long would it take some of you to make a similar knife to this point?

Sorry for the crappy pics, dead batteries in the cam.:o

For me, every knife remains a separate adventure. Some come together quickly, others seem to fight me every step of the way. I don't really worry too much about how long it takes, I just do whatever it takes, however long it takes, to get it done right. I'd say for a quick little work knife that's not hand finished, I think you're probably right on target. If everything goes right, it probably takes me about 10 minutes to profile, 30 minutes to grind bevels, another 10-15 minutes to work through the grits, and another 10 to drill and deburr.
