I am getting sick to death of all the bitterness.

Word up. It actually seems to be a bit better lately than it has been for a while. I used to be a regular, but spent a long time away because I got fed up with a lot of the foolishness. I still follow the forum though, because the knives are still awesome. It seems a little more chill around here the past couple months than it was over the past few years. I still see some childish, selfish behavior that I could do without, but this is a great forum. I look forward to seeing some of you guys at Blade!

Moonie ... you know I love you, too. Hope to see you there -- it's been a long while.

Why all the commotion? These are tough, tough times. Toughest I've seen and I'm no kid. All that stress boils over into everything you do and everything you think. Everyone develops a hair trigger and is much less willing to back down.

On some few, it has the opposite effect. A little compassion can go a long way.

Glad to be a Piglet ... glad to be here. Hope to see you all around the Forum for a very long time to come.

Well said Will and MMIAM. some people need to take a chill pill.

Dont take life too seriously, youll never get out alive:eek:

I feel relieved knowing there's others that felt the same.

Hopefully things will get back to the important things like Busse knives.

For your enjoyment.......

I support what MMIAM, Will, and OP have all said, as well as all you other Hogs! I came because of the knives, I stayed because of my friends, and I hope we always can pass along the good feelings we have about being here!

(OK, and a part of me is sorry I picked the Harley over Blade...but what's a girl to do? I will truly miss you all!)

MMIAM, well said Brother!!! Life is to short to be concerned with things so petty...

There are places on bladeforums to vent, curse, and call members out. The Busse community is not one of those places. This is a family place where we share the love for the toughest knives in the world, and where we solve complicated problems of our times :D

I agree, the mood has been a little low. So, beatings will continue until moral improves :D

We're always are going to get people who wander in here who don't understand how things are done here, so, best thing to do is lead by example.

I try to remember that people can't hear the inner monologue that makes me chuckle as I post something clever.

It is important to remember that our posts may be intended as humor, but when some one else reads it it comes across deadpan.

I have also never bought a knife I was not completely happy with here on this forum (maybe because I have only bought Busse, and only from members with great feedback!).

Also, I never post drunk..........because I don't drink, so that helps a lot!

There are a some long time members with large post counts that cannot, and I mean cannot post with out saying something negative, or putting some one else down. Thankfully they don't tend to post in this subforum.

I just try to enjoy it, and not take anything too seriously. Even when some one calls me a know nothing moron.

and I thought it was another drinking thread. I was going to suggest one of these.

and yes the knife is black and tan;):D

Whats with all the blithering postmodern romanticized prose in this forum?? HA HA!!
Are we not men who like steel?? We need to be all standing around a roaring fire
along a creek bank and talking smack instead of trying to give all the, "Why not
me whiners a Busse bottle with a nipple on it!!" My 02.!! Iam not mad or drinking
right now!!!! HA!! Carry on!!!

Also, I never post drunk..........because I don't drink, so that helps a lot!

I've been lucky when I post drunk, I only have spelling and grammer errors. Haven't said anything too stupid...................yet :D

Will,

Great post! Almost seems appropriate in all genres of life. I like this one, "keep on keepin' on"!

Gnite all...

It seems to be an epidemic. I have been a member on 1911Forums for about a year, and it is one of the most tightly and well moderated forums around. However, there has been a noticable decline in the civility level over there from when I started.

Re-reading your copy is your friend! For every two posts I make on all the forums I frequent, I probably pass on posting at least one draft after reading and thinking about it. Part of the problem is that readers cannot always discern from printed text the intent of the words, the spirit in which things are said. Printed words cannot convey the same messages that your demeanor, your inflections, your emphasis can when speaking face to face.

I have found that I have a kind of subtle sense of humor that is too often taken dead seriously by someone reading my posts, so I don't do much of it any more. My friends and I (as do many of you) engage in a kind of banter which none of us take seriously, but which evesdroppers might perceive as insulting. This cannot successfully be done with the written word except between friends. Also, depending upon our personalities and moods, we sometimes fail to give others, especially those we do not know, the benefit of the doubt.

I have found that the safest way to have fun on the forums is to poke a little fun at yourself, as per my recent "Happiness is..." post. There is something seriously wrong with someone who is incapable of laughing at his own foibles.

Thank you all for your input. This wasn't meant to isolate any one forumite or circumstance. One of my Old Skool HOG friends, who doesn't post here much anymore, even PM'd me as to why I posted this thread now as things seemed to be better than in previous months. Maybe it's just my own vibe, but I am trying to be more upbeat. I certainly have the skill of laughing at myself, since I have plenty of "stupid" to go around. I'm not posting as much ever since I was called out for my over enthusiasm. I am trying to subscribe more to the K.I.S.S. principal and read more of what others have to say. Thanks all.

I like to know the "oldtimers" are still around to learn from and I hope that the new crop of "noobs" like myself don`t scare any of them off with stupid comments and fighting. Thank you for this post and please remember the the best way to teach is by example , "if not from you than who if not now then when?". Thank you all for being part of a thing I greatly enjoy.

Well stated Will, there are some of us that only come up for air once in a while, but we are still down there.

butterflies, rainbows, and unicorns for all!
