We visit once a year back to Michigan (home for my wife and I) from mid July to Mid August.

Someone should have a WSS skills meeting in Michigan while I am home! I know - selfish of me - but it would be awesome to have a outdoor experience while I was home.

Anyone? Beuller? Anyone?

If you ever come up to CT, I hope to get a similar warning..

This way I can get the hell out of town!!!

:p

I'll be around, maybe if all goes well with the Peche Island gathering we could have another one mid summer (I hope so because I just found out I can't make the one this weekend).

Or perhaps we could do something at Waterloo again.

Where exactly are you going to be? Sleeping Bear dunes are always nice too.

There's also a nice State Rec area just north of Mount Clemens (WC Wetzel). I've been out there a few times and it's never busy (there's nothing there except for some trails, a few benches and an RC plane flying area, so nothing to really draw people out there).

I'm sure we can get something together.

I will be in the Kalamazoo / Grand Rapids area for about a month.

Gotcha, I'm not horribly familiar with the area, but my g/f will be living and working in GR this summer. I'm sure there's a lot to do. I've been to a couple of nice parks not too far out of town, Chief Hazy Cloud park in Ada is quite nice, right on the Grand River.

Although I wouldn't mind a trip down to Kzoo, I still have never been to the Bell's brewery, despite enjoying their brews for quite a number of years.

I'm also going to be out in that area in early july for Rothbury Music Festival, should be a great time, especially because my best friends band is playing and I'm going as their "manager" so I'm anticipating an all access pass. Ticket sales are really down for the festival though, I'm hoping it doesn't get cancelled as it was alot of work to get it to happen this year with the ranch where it is held going into bankruptcy last fall. Stellar line up with The Dead, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and dozens of others, talks of Neil Young being added to the lineup as well.
link if anyone is interested. http://rothburyfestival.com/

Any chance you can get to the UP and visit Escanba? They have a K-Mart and everything there - including the home of BRKT!

GOOD....... I've been waiting for the chance to meet with you fist face to face.

If you get near Detroit, gimme a call..... that's just across the crick from me.

Detroit.. Home sweet home:rolleyes: I grew up in the city and it is so hard to go back there after moving to AZ 12 years ago.

I do miss the creeks and rivers though, they are a hikers highway... Have a fun and safe trip! Up north & the U.P. are awesome

Tony made a poopy comment - you canucks in this thread are just doo doo heads.

Maybe I am spending too much time with my 3 year old.

Yousers....I'll probably be around and wouldn't mind a trip to Kalamazoo - I got some inlaws there that I can dump the wife at.

TF,

When you get here, you're welcome to fish at my place near Little Portage lake in Jackson County. Just drop me a PM or e-mail. I'll send you my phone number too.

For the record, yes, Canadians are poopy faces. Poopy faces that brew the best whisky, breed the best hockey players, and have the best strip joints (they don't call it the Windsor Ballet for nothing) in North America.

I just wish they hadn't polluted this country with burnt coffee and rock hard bagels from Tim Hortons and confused Americans with Canadian bacon (ham) and malt vinegar on french fries. WTF is that? Doesn't ketchup (katsup, catsup) have enough vinegar in it? you gotta drink it straight?

:p;)
