O.K., I am going to get 2 spyderco knives. Here are the pairs I am thinking of purchasing. You guys are more experienced than me, I am very new to this. Please tell me which pair would be the best start to spyderco knives.

Plain edge delica 4 & plain edge native III
Spyderedge delica 4 & plain edge native III

I own a plain edge chive, leek, and combo edge buck/strider police knife.
I am only 2 weeks into knife collecting and after I purchase these 2 spydercos I will have paid about $210-$220 for knives! Is that too much or abnormal?! But after these two spydies I am done buying for a long time. Thank you for your help!

It looks like you really want that PE Native, so I would get the SE Delica just to mix things up a bit. $210-220 for knives is noth'n son.

IUKE, are you mind reader?
I was thinking the same. I have both. I use spyderedge Delica 4 at work, it is an exelent knife to cut cardboard boxes and slice tomatoes for lunch. My Native (walmart Native with S30V steel) is used around house. May be you should get one of the knives with FRN handle and one with SS, may be, just a thought.
I wish I would stop at $220.

I'll vote for the just the spyderedge Delica. Give it a try for a while then proceed with further purchases.

Any of the generation 4 spydie knives are awesome, you really can't go wrong. Wait until you're spending $400 per knife, It's a sickness.

Welcome aboard!

haha its a good thing to hear that my spending isn't too excessive compared to others on this board. DGG, the reason why I want to get both at the same time is because I want to save on shipping. I know i will love spyderco and I know that I will end up getting both at some point so saving that extra 8 dollars for shipping is pretty big.
I am definately leaning towards getting a spyderedge delica.

How about this combo?

Delica plain edge & Endura spyderedge

The wierd thing is that I can actually get the endura for a little cheaper than the native III, but I am worried if the native III is a much better knife than the endura. Plus the aesthetics part of it where endura and delica look like clones and the native III is very different. hmmmm

I would think a PE Delica and an SE Native III, but that's me:) Actually, Capt. Carl's PE Delica/SE Endura would be a dynamite combo:D I don't have the Native III in SE, though:) It is an interesting thought. I already have 4 Delica 4's (2 PE/1 CE/1 SE), PE Delica 3, Endura 3 in PE and CE, and a PE E4 and SE E4 waiting to be picked up. I already have a Native PE/S30V and a PE Native III so an SE one......hmmmmmmm.

$220:) I wish......:) Just the tip of the provervial iceberg:) My last "impulse" buy was an Ontario RAT 1, Spydie Double Stuff and a couple of acrylic spydie stands - couldn't wait, so I had it sent Expedited and it was a $170 touch (CDN though). That was just last week:)

buy the spyderedge delica and the pe native

p.s 220 in nothing compared to most people here

have fun collecting

This is such a hard decision!
PE delica & PE native III
SE delica & PE native III
PE delica & SE endura

Im leaning more towards the SE delica and PE native III right now.
Gordonk, unfortunately the native is only available in the PE/CE.

Thanks for your help so far guys!

ZDP blades tend to be too expensive... i could get 2 of the knives that i stated for probably less than one jess horn zdp.

checked it out looks like somewhere between 60-65...I still think i want to have 2 spydercos. Also, i just bought that rainbow leek for 60 recently and that was kinda pricy.

IMO the best spyderco knife out there for ANYTHING is the Chinook II. i drove 2.5 hours away to get one yesterday and its my 3rd spyder and NOTHING compares to it.. its the toughest and cant be killed.

aahhhhh ok. a salt 1 is a great knife. i have one of those as well. it was my first spyderco and i love it. makes a great water blade.

I was lookin at them and they are nice, but I don't live near any lake where I can fish.
