I am looking for a good quality knife in the 25-50 dollar range any suggestions??

Ive seen the spyderco tenacious for $32 new several places..G-10 handles and decent steel..Several Kershaws in that range..

My favorites in this range, in no particular order:

Spyderco Endura/Delica Wave (you'll have to search the forums to get them under $50).
Kershaw Leek
Kershaw Zing
Benchmade Griptilian (again, you'll have to get a good forum price to find one below $50).

I paid double that - lucky dog! :)

I know. I couldn't pass up a USA-made design for that price!

Anyway, now that I got it I would recommend this knife only if you don't mind a clip system that is a bit hard to put back in your pocket... I swear, Kershaw designs nice knives of very high quality, but their engineering pales in comparison to say Spyderco! There's always one big design flaw that sticks out like a sore thumb :(

Delica 4. The Delicas are a proven design and Spyderco keeps making them better. Wicked slicer and good steel. The blade shape is more "useful" than that of the leek, more belly for slicing and general tasks. I have an assisted opener (Twitch II) that I like and is fun to play with, but it is not much faster than my Delica.

Ok, I'm going to do it. First of all I have never been a Cold Steel fan. With all of the recent tri-ad lock posts and a few videos from Fred Perrin trying to kill one, I broke down and bought a Mini Lawman. For $50, I can honestly say that it is hands down one of the most solid knives I own. I know...I know...but it truly is.

do one of those smith & wesson "magic" assisted openers for around 35 bucks. heavy, but has a supposed "glass breaker" and the assisted speed is faster than a switchblade.

Just got a Boker Fiskmuk, 440c blade, stag handles. Feels great in the hand. I like the appearance very much. Price under $32.00. Good photo of the knife on
Able Ammo web site.
Good Luck.

FYI just grabbed a Kershaw Leek for $48...best EDC blade (for me) I own so far IMO.

or just get a victorinox soldier alox while you still can... its a humble but amazing folder.

Esee knives 'Izula'. $50 almost anywhere. Uses 1095 steel with Rowen's awesome heattreat. If not that then I'd do a Buck 119 or buck 110. Classics, they use 420hc steel, pretty decent stuff. If your looking for something cool, not really fuctional then I'd pick up an M7 bayonet. Just some ideas.

I have an assisted opener (Twitch II) that I like and is fun to play with, but it is not much faster than my Delica.

Actually, I just got 2 assisted openers on Saturday. I have a Kershaw Leek, Needs Work, and Avalanche.

I can open my (manual) Spydercos faster and more reliably than these AO knives. The Kershaw designs are really nice. I think they would be doing themselves a good service to drop AO in most of their knives.
