I am moving to California

Don't listen to Uffda, he has heat frustration and sun damage from Zona. Move to Ventura County, but don't tell anybody about it. Stay out of LA county though. Redding, meh, I bet Nor Cal has alot to offer, but I got too much family in So Cal, but I much prefer Ventura Co. if I have to do it.

Don't listen to Chris. It gets hotter in Redding than is does here. One of my SIL's sisters lives there. I drove through that area in the early '90s and it was about 110º

My sister lives near Grass Valley and it gets hotter there than it does here. Besides that, we have a dry heat. ;)

Ventura would be nice if it wasn't in the PRK.:p

I was looking for the newbie section but I've been a member here for so long I can't remember if we even have one. I am currently in the Rock and Roll capital of the World, Cleveland Ohio but I am moving to Redding California. I remember seeing someone else lived in Redding so I was thinking I may be able to meet up with him when I get there. If you live near Redding, hit me up.

Maybe you were thinking of me :p

I've lived here for about 6 years now, and I love it. I'm probably a lot younger than you; I'm only 19 and attending the local college. The only negative is that it is so damn hot; today it's supposed to be 112. Luckily we have 2 or 3 lakes and the Sacramento river to keep us cool. What made you move here?

Trinidad? Arcata? I haven't thought of that area in many years. When we would head up 101 towards OR or WA, we would always try to stop at the Samoa Cookhouse.
The kids enjoyed it. I suspect that the prices are a good bit higher than when we were there in the late '70s.
