I am no sharpening expert, but....

I have the Spyderco Tri angle sharpener, and I've had success sharpening many of my knives. My Delica 4 however--I can't get that knife sharp. Can anyone tell me why? Ever heard of a stubborn Delica? It's discouraging because I love the knife.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

I find the Delica and the Endura the most difficult knives to get and keep sharp in my whole collection. The flat saber grind isn't the best grind out there if you want a real slicer; plus, these knives are frequently delivered with an original angle close to 40° incl. or even above (!), being over 20° especially on the "right" side which isn't ideal for a really sharp edge either.
Try the magic marker trick to get an idea of the angle of your edge. If around 40° incl. or uneven angles, you may have found one reason for your problems.

If you own a Lansky system (if not, consider getting one, they're just great and an ideal supplement for the SM!), you could rebevel the edge to 25-30° incl. and finish it off on the SM with the 30° or 40° setting. That should help. You could of course go the whole hog and send it in to Tom Krein for a Full Flat Grind treatment and make it a pocket light saber!

Try convexing the edge.
My convexed ZDP D4 is a cutting machine and just needs a strop every now and then to keep it hair popping sharp.

Thank you for your replies. I do have a Lansky, and will try it. Who /where is Tom Krein? Also, I do not know how to make a convex edge?
Let me try the Lansky method, thanks again.
