I am seeing Manix 2's....

Mine should be here in a few days... hopefully...

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't have gone for the free shipping (parcel post) option :thumbdn:...

Funny. I haven't been getting Twitter updates for the Manix 2, FG Ladybug, Orange Sprint Moran.....

I really rely on these updates to be able to either contact my dealer, or purchase straight from the Spyderco site. Worked great for the Swick sprint, I snagged two of those.

Yea I didnt know the FG Lbug till I saw it when I went looking for the Manix2 on knifecenter.com. They usually are some of the first ones to have new stuff.

Sorry, don't want to hijack but i just have a quick question, is the manix 2 just a sprint run or actual addition?

There's already talk of possible Sprint Runs with different steels and different grinds, but this version will be the regular production model.

Ok cool, I was just a little worried it would be a limited run (the manix 2 as a model) but I am happy to hear it's not. Thanks for the info. Back on topic though, I too am eagerly awaiting reviews. In the pics I saw, it really looked like a great hard use knife. That thing was jimped from head to toe.

From the photos on one dealer's site, it appears the production version does not have the jimping on the rear portion of the spine which the prototype/pilot I photographed and tested did. That, IMHO, was a wise decision. The jimping back there contributed little or nothing to grip but made retrieving anything other than the Manix from the pocket it was being carried in quite uncomfortable. Still has the jimping top and bottom at the front of the handle though.

I got my pilot from the crew in golden yesterday(thanks again guys!!). Was pleasantly surprised that is was the ffg model. This thing is a tank of a knife. If I get some time I'll try to get some pics later.

I got to handle one at Blade- and it was very cool. The ball-lock mechanism was super-smooth. FWIW, I liked it a little bit better than my original Manix- as it's not so beastly heavy.

Ooh. Found one. Just ordered mine. I love 154 CM, I love the ball lock, I love the saber grind on this one. Irresistible.

Big time for Spydercos... its like everything is hitting us at once.
What....

RIL Sage
FG Ladybug
Manix 2
Lum Chinese Folder sprint run
Orange Moran

Am I missing anything?

The Bug! Don't miss the Bug! One of the coolest little Spydies ever, IMO. There's no excuse not to get a few of those little puppies. It's tiny, but it's a real knife that can pull real knife duty if needed.

I ordered a Manix 2 from knifecenter, which indicated they were in stock. This was not true, and they sent me an email telling me to cool my jets. So they can bite my ankle. I don't deal with vendors who pretend to have items in stock but do not.

I'll wait a while for the feeding frenzy to die down, and by then I may want something else anyway. :)
