I am unfamiliar with this "RR" logo on Damascus Knife... some help please???

Bought this knife today at an auction. I apologize for bad picture but should give you an idea. Has a damascus blade with an RR stamp, on R upright the other upside down. Is this a logo for Rough Rider or is this a better quality knife you think? Also how does one tell if it is a real damascus steel blade? Thanks for any help you can provide!
 
soak the blade in a solution of vinegar and lemon juice, may take a while or get ferric chloride avalible at radio shack and soak it for 20 to 30 minutes rinse it well then polish it lightly with 2k wd sandpaper if the pattern etches its real if not it was faked on.as to the mark I have no idea.
