Tom (and you) are right. The type of film inferred only increases negative perceptions of superb tools like the khukuri, and others.
As far as martial arts go, I have never been interested in the mere mechanics of conflict. If any particular art does not foster and promote a genuine desire to contribute goodness to the world, regard and respect for others, I want nothing to do with it. I sense from other forumites that I am not alone in this.
