I Asked, W&SS Answered! The 10/22 It Is!

I can be in a store and out with any sort of gun in around 15 min if I fill out the federal form quick. Background check has never taken more than 10 min at most.
It isn't the background check that takes 10+1 days. It's the crappy law. I believe the intent was to slow the use of firearms in crimes of passion or use for suicide. It really should just be for your FIRST gun, after that, it makes ZERO sense.
Did they change the mag release or did you buy one with an aftermarket release? They're usually flush with the stock.
I actually asked about that today because I thought I would have to buy a magazine latch. They told me it was a recent development and they all come stock that way now. Pretty cool in my opinion!
Dude, you're getting a Dell 10/22!!

That about sums it up! I'm so stoked! I was excited about my glock, but it doesn't get much play, and my shotgun isn't legal for hunting outside the home in CA as it is set up. So, this is a gun I can really go have fun with and it IS legal to kill vermin and varmits in CA with them, so I can take it out for squirrel, rabbit or coyote hunting if I develope any skill. I'll probably buy another rifle for CA hunting unless I wind up in Oregon in the next year or two

Butte rules! Haven't been there in many years, but it's one of my favorite cities, truly a fascinating and unique place.
We resupplied in Butte on a long-distance hike. Had a Cornish pasty meat pie at a shack near the mine. Cool town!

OP, congrats on your new rifle! When I got back into guns as an adult, my second was a Marlin 60 and it should have been my first. There is a LOT to be said for an affordable, ubiquitous .22LR semiauto.

Not much to add to the excellent advice above. +3 (???) to the rimfirecentral forums. Figure out which brand(s) of bulk ammo it likes, and get a lot of it. Then figure out which brands of gourmet ammo it groups tightest, and get a few boxes of that.

Just got signed on to Rimfirecentral.com. Wow, it looks like a wealth of info! Thanks for that recommendation! I have some serious reading to do!
