Hey Slim, what happened to the little Harpy?
Have you cast her aside in favour of the more exotic blades? Does she lay, unloved and forgotten, in some dusty draw, chased off by the Civvy, a distant memory...

Sorry. I have fond feelings for my Harpy. I'm starting a rest home for them.

GOOD *$#@&^% GOD! You guys are NUTS! I've been poking around the bladeforums since the beginning (and other knife forums/newsgroups even earlier) and my collection doesn't even close in terms of quantity. Hopefully I'll win the lottery tonight so I can play catchup:D

No worries, the Merlin always rides shotgun when I carry the Civi.
The Merlin is for utility, and the Civi is for self preservation;)
I will tell you this though, I bought that merlin almost ten years ago, and have used the shite out of it. A very trusty little blad if I do say so myself.
 
KC, you have to get out now while the getting is good. You'll go broke and be filing bankrupcy at the rate you are going. Those high end blades will run you straight to the poor house. The only way to fight the urge is to stay away from the forums, never buy another knife magazine and never, never go into a store that sells sharp items.

I once joined Blades Anonymous and had a sponsor, but he won't return my calls anymore since I showed him my new Spyderco Calypso and he fell off the wagon himself.

HIKV finally bite me too. In April I bought more knives than I owned in March!:eek: Not going to do that again.(yeah, right.. hehehe)
 
That's ok, before Bladeforums I didn't know there a thing known as a "Custom Knifemaker" I know that now!

Whats the folding knuckle-knife, looks neat... is it a cheapy like most of the folding knuckle knives I've seen, or is it actually a quality knife? (if it is, too cool... a well made folding knuckle knife would rock.)
 
hi satin, That knuckle knife is a Taylor Body Guard, Surgical steel Japan. One of those ebay things I just had to have lol

I think it is a Hampton Matt, another Ebay find. That knife did not come with a sheath, but one thing it does come with is some really good cutting ability.
 
I seem to be moving in the opposite direction as to the number of knives that I own. When I came to BF I had roughly 40+ knives. I now have about 20. I have found myself gravitating towards quality and away from quantity. For example, I traded several knives and threw in cash at a recent show and bought my first Sebbie, a small one w/ a unique graphic. I am now starting to sell several other knives to raise money for my next small Sebbie. My goal is to eventually have only ten knives at any one time. This would exclude the twenty or so that belonged to my late Father. Those I'll have until I am gone.
 
I wonder how many people would recognize a Hampton? I don't know why I ended up with so many, but I have 5 (at least they were sold to me as Hampton's; only one has a mark). Anyway, since I see you are a fan, I will take a loss and trade you my 5 for 3 of yours...say that kerambit and those two DDR's (LOL). Or if BurkStar wants to take advantage of me and trade those 3 Ferrets for my 5 Hamptons...What kind of mushrooms did you say were in my Easter dinner???

Once again, unable to post picture. Did my Gold Membership expire???
