I was able to put about a 15 degree flex in the blade of my 15" AK by burrying the tip in a stump and using my leg muscles to pry as hard as I could. When I let go the blade returned to true.
I have used one to almost pull a stuck truck out. The blade held the weight of the truck but the knife kept slipping from between the push bars/bumper. A little dangerous but I just had to see if it would work. every time we let pressure off of the rope the AK fell to the ground so we just tied the rope to the tow hook and pulled her out. The blade barley flexed but I couldn't say how much and it was totalty fine when it was over.
I saw this same thing done with a Sears Craftsmen wrench on T.V. several years ago and that is where I got the idea to try it!
You would be hard pressed to break even a 12 inch Ak's blade in half!
Come to think of it I don't think in the 14 or 15 years of selling AKs from village or shop we have ever had a blade failure. Never had to honor the Chiruwa AK guarantee of break it, send me the pieces and I'll send two free.
