I broke the blade on my Rukus today...

Yeah, they let me keep an old 806 blade when I bought a new one. It wasn't broken or anything though, so that might make a difference if they wanted to keep and analyze a defective blade.

I did have to send the whole knife in, they just replaced the old blade and included it in the return box.

Yep, that is one busted blade. So Benchmade is going to just send you a blade? I thought they required the knife so they could swap it? Also, isn't a replacement blade $25 or something?

Yes, I had to send the knife to them. I did that yesterday, but took these pics with my phone before shipping it. If you break the tip off or something like that when prying etc a new blade is 25.00 or so.

But when I told him where it broke, he said just send it in without any money. I'm not sure if it broke from long term heavy use or a steel defect. But when it broke, I was just carving a stake. Never batoned with it or anything. I have fixed blades for that.

As you can see it's been through the ringer, and I would pay 25.00 for a new blade in a second anyway.

I really like that model, one of my favorites. I think Benchmade serrations are cut way too deep into the blade. They are far too aggressive in my opinion. No wonder, it makes a natual weak spot in the blade.
