There is no bluing involved.
That is just etched 1095.
 
This one has its own thread, but since I mentioned it earlier, I thought I'd post it here as well. This knife won "Best of Show" at the Lone Star Knife Expo in June. Thanks to Caleb Royer for the great photo.

This could be a break through knife show. The idea is great, centrally located. Hopefully, there will be some professional photography service available to capture the work and the moments.
