Nah, I was just making a joke about that looking like something CRKT would end up making. They have some quirky knives that this would fit right in line with.Me? Am I in trouble?
You scared me! I was waiting for the Black Helicopters to be overhead...Nah, I was just making a joke about that looking like something CRKT would end up making. They have some quirky knives that this would fit right in line with.
Smoother, maybe. Fully retract the blade, No. The handle pivot is in the way. If it was made to retract much further, that pivot would hit the cutting edge of the blade a dull a spot.I just thought that it was interesting to watch the build, and I (While NOT being a mechanical engineer!) thought it might be able to be made to work smoother, and fully retract the blade. The geometry of the linkages seemed to be limiting the movement...
If the rear link was a bit longer: wouldn't that pull the blade further to the rear?Smoother, maybe. Fully retract the blade, No. The handle pivot is in the way. If it was made to retract much further, that pivot would hit the cutting edge of the blade a dull a spot.
O.B.
The pivot in the center of the handle, and the bar it attaches to, would have to move towards the spine of the blade. That's not possible. If the rear link was a bit longer: wouldn't that pull the blade further to the rear?
You won't loose it. It'll be right there on the floor.Looks like a good way to lose a finger when closing that thing.
