We spend a great deal of time talking about how great a seller is after a perfect transaction but never after on that wasnt perfect. Let me correct this oversite.

I purchased a well used small Sebenza from john romanowski john romanowski last week. The knife was listed as being his edc for several years and had been well used and sharpened. It was priced very well and discounted for such condition. John shipped it the very next morning and a couple days later ( yesterday) I had it in hand.

I’ll admit to being a bit underwhelmed with the actual knife as I didnt feel it perfectly met the description in the listing. I reached out to John right away and he got back to me immediately. We chatted about my concerns. John was a true professional, polite and engaged in the issue. After a bit we realized that we had had a misunderstanding on condition and John immediately offered to refund the purchase price as I wasnt happy with my purchase even though no fault of his.

I accepted his generous offer and told him I would drop it in the mail today, imagine my surprise when I received a paypal notification 3 minutes later that the refund was complete! I still had his knife but he wanted to be sure I was taken care of. Real class act this guy!

I will not hesitate to buy from John again and I can assure you all you will be well taken care of when you do. John exemplifies what it means to be a member of a community and Im proud to be a part of that community because of members like him.
 
Good transaction and follow up… but this is the standard for what is expected IMHO, not above and beyond. If a receiver isn’t satisfied, there should be a refund issued and the knife returned.

This is when you see the true character of a seller. It may be what is expected, but sadly when put to the test many fail. Mistakes happen and misunderstandings can happen( more easily on well used knives). A good seller steps up and resolves the problems , with no need for negative GBU threads or PayPal disputes.

It’s tough buying the great deal used knife sometimes! Thanks for the extra info.

I appreciate all your kind words. I have said it before and will again, BF is a community of like minded blade enthusiasts who are honest hard working individuals. I try and be as honest and open about everything I trade or sell, But as I am human sometimes I might make a mistake, when I do I will try to fix that as best I can. As soon as I heard he was not satisfied it was my responsibility to issue a refund. I never want someone to be unhappy with a sale or trade with me.
