I cannot find much info on this one. It is a curiosity.

It was one of those estate sales where you strain to fill your eyes with all of the cool stuff. The seller was oblivious and cheap.
Among the cool buys such as a geiger counter, a 1960's "Bullitt" Benrus watch, and unstruck 1960's Kit Kat Ranch matches, I found this Brookstone marked knife.

Really no details that I can find, just odd.

Looks like a knife for chipping out old putty from a window, so it can be reglazed. They were lightly battoned.

I agree with mtangent, but the only thing I have to add is that they are called "hacking knives". It may help your search.

I have no personal experience with being a glazier, but Google says that what you've got there fits the general pattern.

IMO, it's a neat find! Small and simple with a wharncliffe blade. Almost perfect for those chores you don't want to get your "good knife" dirty on.

Brookstone was a hardware (?) company and they sold the Tapio Wirkalla puukkos back in the 70's. Is the handle covered with rubber? I have a knife that looks like that blade shape but with leather scales a friend brought back from Iraq, and I think it was supposed to be for cutting electrical cables? John

Brookstone is still in business. Gadgets and gear. I used to order from their catalog, then they opened a storefront downtown. Now they're online.
