I can't decide between a SOG powerlock or a Leatherman Blast

Well, controversy aside about their folding knives, they make an excellent tool. I own a Powerlock and a Wave. I like them both for different reasons but if I had to pick just one it would be the SOG. Hopefully they never have the short sightedness to drastically change anything about about what they have done very well in regards to the Powerlock.

Putting aside the fact that I won't support SOG on principle, the Powerlock looks too big for my taste. Of course, I don't know how large a LM Blast is. I EDC a LM Wave and it's the perfect size and it's heavy enough.

I agree. I'm not sure their folders were ever right for me, but their fixed blades are outstanding, and their multitools, to my experience, are among the best. Next to my CRKT Razel, my powerassist has been among my most useful (and most-often-used) knives, and I haven't broken it yet.

I never noticed quite how big it was until I saw the pictures on the previous page. Hanging on my belt, it's always suited my modest 180lb frame just fine.
