I can't figure out Friction Folders

I've been trying to make a friction folder but I can't quite get the blade and stopping pin in the positions they need to be. Any one have a jpeg or something with a good template? I'm sick of having to scrap steel and handle scales because I keep screwing up.

Make your own templates first

paper drawings

cereal box templates and push pin thumbtacks

Also leave extra metal on the blade and fit it to the stop pin.

You could always add a second stop pin, one for open and one for closed in case your timing is off.

I use cardboard to get things close, then leave a little extra on the blank and go VERY SLOW to get proper fit.
