I Can't Get This Knife Out Of My Head!

I really like that one too, plus they have plain edged versions now. I really like the 06 auto as well, which they are also making in plain edge.

I like the 06 Auto as well but IIRC it has a metal handle. That is a red flag in my book for any knife designed for anything greater than light duty.

If they only made an 06 manual in G10.

They have an assisted 06 with g10...remove the assist?

I really don't like Kershaw, personally. I've developed an aversion to liner and frame locks, and I have had too many torsion bars break at the wrong time...and when they do, there isn't always a good strong detent. My favorite knife is the Benchmade AFO II, and the propel assist is the closest I've found to the AFO that isn't an auto.

how many torsion bars broke on you....and what do you do with your knives to make this happen so often? Just curious...never wanted to deal with torsion bars, but did not realize they were that much of an issue

I'm more of a Benchmade person but I have a Gerber Propel assisted open and love it.
No issues with the safety not working properly.

Please elaborate on the safety issue...

When you close the knife and even turn the safety on, you can still pull the blade out about a quarter of an inch. If this happens when it's in your pocket, it can very well slice the heck out of your hand.

Hey all!

So I know I've posted about Gerber before, and I know Gerber doesn't exactly have the best reputation. However, the design of the Propel Downrange AO has always intrigued me, and I always come back to it even though I know there are similar designs that may be better quality. I always find myself adding it to my cart only to delete it prior to placing my order. I think it's time to pull the trigger and just get it already! Am I crazy?!

I came here to crack a particular joke, but everybody and their dog has beaten me to it by now.

I'm kind of the same as you. I know Gerber is regarded for junk, but ever since I very first saw it, I've always loved the look of their Paraframe folding knife.

I really wish Gerber could turn things around for the better, The only Gerber I own though is an old multitool from the 90's that was my dads. I've always admired the Mark 2 dagger.

As long as you only look and dont buy it.
The Paraframe is a horrible piece of junk.
I git rid of mine ASAP.
