I Can't Shave

I'm not sure the ultrafine rods are necessary. You can get a knife shaving-sharp using the medium rods alone, with practice (just did this myself yesterday...finally).

I think at a certain point there's a difference between having a knife that's plenty sharp enough and having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. :)

The ultrafines are not necessary, but they are fun to experiment with, especially if you are OCD like most of us.

I agree with you jjacques... I guess that once you get them to shave a little, that's enough for most uses and trust me, I don't plan to show mi knife arround the office just to let everyone now how sharp it is, so I don't need to perform any "Hey you'all whatch this!" tricks...

Matt321, I am sure they are fun to experiment with but the problem is that they are expensive as well (and shipping them to Spain makes them even more expensive). You will be amazed at how expensive any US made cutlery is here in Spain. Just so you can compare... I got a Centofante III for 100Euros in August (before i found out I could get stuff cheaper on Ebay).

I think I am going to save the money so I can get another folder instead of the ultrafine rods.

Thanks a lot,
Mikel

Check with the marker....if you are not hitting the edge on the 30 degree setting try the 40 degree slots.
