I can't stop buying Spydercos....

Since everybody here seems to be doing this it must be normal. After all I bought two Spydies today, which makes four in the last two weeks, and I've got another one hidden here somewhere that I'll receive on my birthday in a couple of weeks. See, it's perfectly normal.

I have had 4 show up this month - Ti Military, Super Blue Endura, Cruwear Military, and the Nilakka. I have a number on the radar - Manix XL in cpm 90, Caly 3.5 in ZDP189, FFG Endura in ZDP189, Caly in Super Blue. I missed out on alot of the sprint run Para II's - my rathole money got awfully low - would love to get the M390 and the 204, but don't think thats going to happen - prices on the secondary market are a bit crazy. Sal has done a wonderful job providing what I think are the most diverse and best working(and made)knives on the market. I thank him for providing many hours of enjoyment. I don't know how much more punishment my wallet can take, however.

O.K. it's been two hours since my last post and I can add one more. I think I'm done for today, but it is almost midnight. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I did not like Spyderco when I first bought one back in 1990. To me at the time they just felt odd and kinda of a gimmick. As years went by, I leaned to really like them and now they are by far my prefered knife. They always have a knife that fits my needs, and really exceeds it. The Endura and Military are about as perfect a knife as I could ever want. But I did cheat today. I bought a gift for a friend....a Kershaw D2 Leek.....I liked it so much I just ordered one for myself.

My current line up is: Orange, Camo Military, Gayle Bradley, Endura Wave...ZDP-189 and Super Blue Enduras, Civilian, Resilience, Dragonfly SE Aus 8, Ladybug, Manbug ZDP-189, Harpy, Pacific Salt PE, Tasman Salt SE, and Native FRN.

As long as your family is being provided for, I don't see the big deal. Sorry to go serious here, I've seen this explode in a friends face with binoculars (hope I'm not starting a new addiction for you, binos have a following just as bad as knives do). He kept buying high end binos and really put his wife in a hard place having to tell him to man up and pay attention to the family finances. Over binoculars. Seriously.

It may sound silly, but knives fall into the same category of "we don't reeeally need this but..." The price points are also very similar.

I suddenly feel like I need a new pair of binos to go with my new Manix 2.

I've picked up...in the last month...

Chokwe
Leafstorm
Breeden Rescue
Sage 3
Manix2
Stretch ZDP

BM Mini-grip

I've never heard of a Bino addiction, thats pretty nuts.

I would say that this is one of the better addictions to have. The knives stay around, and you won't be ashamed if you display your addiction symptoms to your parents.

I'm using my new knife addiction to wean myself off of my gun addiction. I can buy a knife more often and spend less than when buying guns. Both knives and guns hold their value well, I don't buy on credit, and my family is well taken care of so I don't see it as too much of a problem. Yet.

P.S. I didn't buy a knife today, but I did buy a Benchmade knife tool. Does that count?
