"I, Caveman" on Discovery channel

G'day Heresthedeal.

Obviously.

That's why all internet forums are full of posts that show modern people venture outdoors 12 months a year.

Although I will ask, "why would the shows producers leave them outdoors for another month, without game that is fenced in and easy to take".

After all, the reality of life outdoors might just shatter most people's delusions and mean they won't tune into the next episode.

IMO, not exactly what TV producers want. :friendly_wink:

Kind regards
Mick
the show was put out as an experiment, not just some silly ass reality show. i think the parameters of the experiment were done the way they were to make the conclusion come out as it did. modern man is the shit, (not very scientific, but thats pretty much it) and paleo man was, well, a caveman. too easy.
if it would have been just a reality show, or put out as just a reality show, fine, thats it. it wasn't put out as a reality show, it was an experiment that was done by or observed by experts and scientists.
i think a lot of people belittle the knowledge that our paleo ancestors had and used everyday. just because we can use an ipad or pc, or drive a stick shift.(that may not be true, as most people under 30 or so in the US can't).
i do understand it was just a TV show. i just don't agree with how they put it out as an experiment.
as far as leaving them out there, i would have watched it and bought the DVDs. it wouldn't have been a true experiment but they would have been a lot less cocky about how well they did.
I would have put a smiley here but every time i click it it erases everything i typed, this is the third time I've typed this, or as close as i could get to my original reply. so imagine a smiley here>*< .

This was me before heading out last night, think I should have been on the show eh !!!

I think it would have been a bit more interesting if it had lasted longer, and if the people had no idea when exactly it would end (say 20-30 days), similar to the "out of the wild: alaska experiment" type scenario. Then people wouldn't have been able to really "ride it out" and just not eat, although their location wasn't particularly ideal that time of year for food finding and foraging.

I just sat down and watched these two shows over the weekend. I tried to be as objective as possible. Realizing that there are a lot of people that are in no way equipped for this type of thing it looked about right to me. The lady who griped about her feet at first went right up as a red flag but then turned out to be quite an asset to the group.

The other girl Amy, she couldn't leave quick enough to suit me. It was funny watching how you had the ones that got up and worked and then the lazy asses who just laid around and waited for people to do for them. Interesting dichotomy. Now I know if I want to catch food I can just throw rocks in the water. :)

All in all it wasn't bad, not really good either but I do think that it accurately depicted what you would see if you picked a group of folks that are just your average suburbanites. I was just happy to see no one voted off. I am really tired of that lame story line.

I like how the black lady did absolutely nothing(not saying race had anything to do with it). That sure would piss me off.
