I collect knives, but didn't realize flashlights are collectables.

I only own light (HDS Ra clicky 170) and one watch. Knives all the way.

We're guys, and we like cool stuff.

Most of us come here cause we like knives, but the more you look around, the more cool stuff you see! Knives, guns, flashlights, multitools, pens, watches, camping gear, cigars, ect ect...

If only money grew on trees.

For me it's less about collecting and more about the "oh shit I gotta get this for: [insert specific situation/use as an excuse]". Gotta catch em all!

Dude you're so cruel! LOL. I got more seriously into flashlights, knives, gear, etc around the same time in 2006 when I learned that all these various forums existed. Before that I was just buying the odd knives and lights based on magazines, etc. The interwebs has done some serious damage to my retirement fund!

Funny, Planterz is one of the guys I saw here after seeing him on CPF. This "nut" knows his flashlights!!

All I need is my 5 cell Maglite to whack skulls!!! ;)
(if need be..just in case ya know)
Plus I figure Five Oh can't bust me for having a Maglite in my car...;)

I, too, am a flashaholic. Just like some others have said, you go over to candlepowerforums.com at your own financial risk! I know.

And, in my case, I only have about 15 flashlights --- total blasphemy in the CPF community. LOL.

My latest precious is a Tri-EDC by Mac's Customs, that yields 700 OTF lumens on one rechargeable 18350 battery.

Or if your wallet has not been drained enough, you can always get in line for a "Spy" by Cool Fall. His Spy 07 went for $995.

Who am I to talk? Just recently joined this forum and it now appears that I will soon be on my way to complete financial ruin based on my plans to get more knives.

Only an idiot would own more than one or two flashlights.

My uniform allowance covers flashlights and knives, and a copshop in eastern IL carries SureFires, Streamlights, Benchmade, KaBar, Cold Steel and Spyderco so yeah, it can be addicting.

I've been putting outlets into my closets and installing the charging cradles for Streamlight C4 DSs for ICE situations.

PS: Watches, nice holsters and matching belts, and leather watch bands to match those holsters and belts can all be addicting...

I can rationalise a different torch for each room of the house in case of a blackout without any cause to think I've become addicted to them. :)

It would be a problem if I moved into a larger house just to justify more purchases.

So it seems prudent to place multiple torches in each room so as to avoid the chance of failing in the dark while moving towards a single torch which could be across the room? :D

BTW, thanks for the excellent info on the topic, especially to Planterz; and powernoodle, I feel I know where you are coming from as my knife collection mirrors your flashlight and torch photo's! ;)
