Polyresin handle AND stainless steel blade?? Wow! What sort of cutting tests have you devised for it :D

It's a sweet looking knife and shows someone loves you enough to support your hobby. Maybe next year, you could say you collect knives made exclusively by Don Fogg?

over the years i have received a few of these. sadly enough many people think that is what a collectable knife is. after all they do say collectable. when i get one i just smile and say thank you than give it to one of my nephews and let them add it to their collections.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of most gift complaint threads. When a gift is blatantly thoughtless, it perhaps warrants a complaint. However, to me it seems hard to find fault with a gift that someone chose which obviously had some thought behind it, even if it's not what you yourself would have chosen. I won't presume to know the circumstances surrounding this one, but if it's coming from a "non-knife person" who knows you like and collect knives, it's at least thoughtful, and in the end I think that's what is actually important.

well at least its....uh......nevermind! lol. at least someone put some thought in even if it wasnt what ya wanted!

Whew, I dodged a bullet, last night my mom was up really late and saw those late-night bulk knife sales things on the shopping channel and asked me if that was the sort of thing I liked. Heresy!

Well, I'm trying to figure where could you get wooden knife stand for $10...
(IF it is wood :) and IF it is atleast properly treated (stabilized))

don't look a gift horse in the mouth, presents are given in love, it truely is the thought that counts

Yeah, I think it was a bit of a gag. Besides, I didn't give them anything! :D

The gift-giver is a peddler-rep for some Chinese gift company. I doubt it cost anything at all.

Better than a sharp stick in the eye anyhow. :)

That beats one of my office party gifts I got Bob. I let it slip to a fellow worker that I collected knives and liked them a lot and for xmas I got a box of Pakistan made knives. About a dollar each and everyone of the 25 of them identical single blade slip joint junk knives. Its the thought that counts. I do still have the little bamboo box they came in. Now that was cool!:D

Several years ago, on the advice of her sister, my wife was ready to spend almost $200 on frost cutlery knives (as a Christmas present) advertised by Tom O'Dell and Todd Boone on their late night knife show. My sister-in-law said I would just love all those knives and especially the "custom made sword" that came with it. I am so glad my wife had second thoughts because I would not have known gracefully how to get rid of them. :o

At least they tried, I've had this happen a few times I always smiled and tried to act as impressed as I could and fondle it and look awed and when that person showed up at my house it was where it could be seen. I've got a sword set that couldnt cut melted butter but it was nice cause the person actually bothered to get me something that was in my intrests other than some sweater (the only one I wear is a pullover fleece I bought myself) that will never see the light of day or something else that shows they dont know anything about you or really put any thought into the gift it was just an afterthought or whatever was in the price range they had you in (hmm I need to spend 5.00 on Jim and look this is 5bux thats what he gets).

Lol at least they thought enough to get you something. It could be alot worse. At least you can display it:o
