Enjoy!

I grew up in southern Kentucky. Always feels like home when I go back to visit....looks like a great (but wet) adventure, MM.

You found any Morels yet? I have found about 1 lb, but none in the usual places. Weird weather screws up the season.

Reminds me of the time I got drunk and insisted on eating dandelions. I hated them.
Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

Nice. I enjoyed that. Whereabouts in KY are you? It was raining off and on here in southern IN as well today.

Near Morehead, about an hour East of Lexington, we moved here from Colorado almost a year ago.....

Indeed, Ky gives you that feeling of 'home'.....

I've looked, but no, I'll look later today tho!

UUhhggg. This is one of those "this is gross, here try it' scenarios. Now I have the odd urge to try them just to see how bad they are. Cool pics. Looks like it was a good time.

They're a very good disgusting thing, I would eat them to show-off, but not under any other circumstances....Except maybe Kate Upton :D

Absolutely beautiful photos. Makes me wish I go back to Kentucky lived in Bowling Green, Paducah , all over bell County, most beautiful place I've ever live.
And I personally like dandelion cooked with bacon or mixed in a wild salad ever tried Poke Salad very different as long as you don't poison yourself cook & drain then repeat several time.

If it gets warm the next few days, Sunday through next weekend will be a good time I bet.

I live in and around Floyd county / Pike county. I figured you lived a little west of here, the mountains there start to get flatter and the hollers get wider. Did your area get hit by the tornado a few years ago?

I'll try poke when it comes up......

Forgot to add those are some fine looking Animals you have. Your horse?

No, it's my sisters, but this is the first time in 4 years that I don't have one, I used to love riding, but I had to leave my horse in CO when we moved. :(

I'll certainly look tomorrow and Sunday.

And yes, I'ma little Northwest of pike, and it did get a tornado, but that was before my time......

Of course they're disgusting - they're good for you!

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great time. Hope you got some real lunch when you got back in...

Nice pics Kid. Your lucky to live in such a beautiful area and are able to just walk out into it. Very cool. I love the rain and enjoy seeing rain pics too.

Don't give up on the dandelions. Cooking them the right way gets rid of the bitterness. Don't eat the stems either, yuk. I prefer to harvest just the tops.

Wash them, make a quick batter and fry them up.

My 9 year old daughter loves to collect and cook dandelions together. We just did it last week. Here are a few pics.

Washed and drying.

Thanks, B! What is your batter recipe? Looks good.....

I have done it as simple as dusting them in flour and tossing them in the pan with a sprinkle of salt while they fry. I like them better coated in batter though. It kind of reminds me of fried zucchini. You can use pretty much any batter. The batter in the picture I made from flour, egg, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder.

I bet you enjoy them more this way if you try again.

you do have a nice backyard there, MM. thanks for sharing. figured you love vegetables since your avatar is of an eggplant. lol jk :)
