That is bad ass, it's pretty f'ing cool that he called after seeing your video, and kinda funny that he sorta gave you the 'dad' lecture in such a cool and kind way. Inquiring minds want to know though, after telling you about the warranty and that you shouldn't do that, did he tell you to send the knife in and if so did it covered under the warranty? And also wondering if during the course of the conversation, were you able to discuss anything with him or were you a bit tongue tied realizing that he actually called you to talk about it?
Certainly isn't, he's probably had a lot more interactions with people trying test the limits of INFI than we'll ever know, and plenty of entertaining 'far worse' videos as well. I'm glad Bo posted this, said don't do this at home, and had a sense of humor about the whole thing as well.

Something can always be gleaned from any destructive test. But if it isn't repeatable, then it's a one off test and you try to get as much out of it as possible. For example, when I sharpened the knife in this video, I screwed the pooch and put a 9dps edge on it. Actually it was closer to 8dps at the ricaso and 9 at the tip, so somewhere in the 8.5 dps. It was so thin that I decided to test how the steel would react to chopping. Regular pine 2x4's had no effect on it. So I had some heavy gauge copper tubing laying around and decided to test that. The damage to the edge was so minimal, that I literally steeled it off. It was basically a 0.002 inch rolling of the very tip of the edge, which came off with a steel.
