So I went and lost my CRKT Eros at work(can't figure out where I dropped it), and it's left me feeling one knife short, and my Izula feels rather tiny in my hand. So I've opted to buy a Strider WP-C to fill that hole in my heart, despite having a Benchmade 890-111 coming in, a Tilt on pre-order, and a custom fixed blade expected later next week:eek:.

I feel like Bladeforums should come with a disclaimer at registration stating that membership could result in a sudden and massive loss of money from ones bank account:D.

In any case, I needed a stainless fixed blade that I could really beat and abuse, so the first order of business is to cut down that papaya tree in my backyard for giggles:thumbup:(note, that is cut and not chop). The knife is still on order, but I just felt the need to express my buyer's remorse at another impulsive purchase. Hopefully Strider's fixed blades get the same heat treatment as their folders, because I intend to have it be my daily carry zombie repellant.

They do (heat treat), and the remorse should quickly fade once the knife is being put to work. Use it like a rental car - it will hold up.

I wanted one Strider fixed blade and ended up ordering two (DB & DB-L). Big dent in piggy banks head.

I don't know... their fixed blades seem a LOT cheaper than one of their folders. Another reason why I wanted one. Not that I'm trying to imply that $175 is "cheap" by any means, but I'd be more willing to pry open a tank with that as opposed to a $500 folder. Though my uses are more food processing than anything else, and a <3" carbon steel Izula is not the best tool for that job.
