howdy Jim!
welcome to the forum and i personally am glad to see younger folks going for 'traditional' knives..
of course at one time the Buck 110 was not traditional at all..
looks yes function ..well..
it come out in 64 and was so revolutionary that it become the
hottest selling knife in 2 years..
was 15 (1967) when i got my first 110 as a tool for
wire skinning as a electricians helper..
today this is where i am ...and i am a wannabe newbie collector!

so when they say slippery slope ..
yep been there..got the shirt also..

Good choice, the 110 is an absolute tank of a knife, durable, sharp, easy to resharpen, my 110 has ZERO bladeplay in any direction, and that Paul Bos heat treated 420HC holds it's own with any of the "supersteels" and it's a heck of a lot easier to sharpen, the 110 feels just as indestructible and tough as my Spyderco Manix, it wouldn't surprise me if it had a similar lock strength

Be warned though, the 110/112's are addictive, I'm feeling the urge for a FG 112 growing....
 
congrats :thumbup: you just can't beat a buck.110 my edc is one of my 110s and one of my mutitools have not run into a everyday task that cannot be solved with this combo and i also recommend the buck forum those guys over there really know there stuff again enjoy the knife
 
DM Bullard Leather makes some very nice belt pouches for these big folders. I use one for my Case Sharktooth with is slightly larger than the Buck. He makes both vertical and horizontal sheaths.
