I didn't realize it BUT I've been Striderized

Carefull, Buck Striders lead to real Striders. I started with the SBs and have 6 I think, and now I have 8 real deal Striders.

flatlander, you have to go quite a long way west of the pine trees down here to bag an elk but we have em. and if the shit hits the fan, we got lots of room down here for all our knife loving brethren.

Well I just picked up a SB.5 Strider/Buck.
Actually, thought it was a 890 with a Tanto point but this one is stamped SB5, has the Strider Buck logo, as well as the Bos logo and USA.

Is there anything interesting about these stampings? I was surprised by the Bos Stamp as it usually indicates a higher grade of steel. My Spearpoint plain-edge just has Buck USA.

Informational comments appreciated!

As far as I know, the Bos stamp on a Buck-Strider always indicates ATS-34. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!

Well I guess I can't keep being lazy so I started tracking through the Dealer catalogs and found these two guys in the 2005 issue.

Despite the Bos Stamp these two are 420HC. I believe it was the 888 that was the ATS-34 Fixed blade.

Thanks Watchmaker.

Note to self,

When you get back home, check those two B/S folders and see if they are missing small chunks of steel on the blade near the handle. :D

Cool post Flats...

I simply can't relate FL ;)

I forgot to mention that it was Goose's picture of his tanto Strider here that made me decide I needed one too. It took half a year, but I got it. I also really like Goose's pictures of him riding his HD down the road with that Tanto strapped on.

Dave you need a big sticker too...to go with that new 'glide!!!
