i discovered something about oiled micarta...

Looks good! Myself, I've never oiled the handles on any of my knives. After you handle them a bit, the natural oils from you skin tend to darken the color up a bit.
 
I know what you mean, I like to keep it original myself. I've only done a couple, and the few were with Mineral Oil. I was shocked after I used the M.O., the original color came back after a few days sitting. I will keep my knives as original as I can, but the Micarta does look nice with oil on them.
 
This has got to be the second best use that man has developed for silicone!!!! :D
 
it may dry out, but it seems to last much longer than mineral oil...
