- I posted a ZT knife for sale on Friday night
- Rocketdog22 says he will take it on Saturday morning
- We exchange emails that same day confirming USPS MO payment details, and within 7 days (as posted in my thread) with a trackable number on the funds
- Wednesday, still no email from Rocketdog22 on a tracking number so I email him
- Thursday, still silence so I send him another email
- He finally answers and says:
"Sorry about the delay getting back to.
I'm getting the money together to get to you but I have to ask/mention.
I've found and seen, these knives being offered for $500-$525.
The production Numbers might be higher, but that's not really important to me. I know I agreed to $610 but is that the best you can do?
Thanks"
- Now I'm ticked off. He waits 5 days to ask me to lower my price, after he committed to the purchase. Had he been experiencing financial problems or something else, no problem.
- I responded saying we needed to stick to the original deal: 1) because a "hand-shake" (i.e. "I'll take it") still means something to me, 2) he waited so long only to try to squirm out of the deal (had he had second thoughts a day or two after his "I'll take it", I would have understood), and 3) his $500 - $525 was on the low side - I saw sales (of much higher serial number knives) for $550 - 600, our agreed price of $610 was not out of line to the market.
- Then I even made him an offer to reduce the cash price to $550 but he can throw in a small knife or gun part (I was thinking some thing in lines of a used Delica or Glock magazine or something like that).
- he responds with "Good luck robbing someone else."
So, beware of this immature NEWB on Bladeforums.
