BUCK KNIVES! There's just something about them that makes me love them. I know that they aren't the best around, and they aren't even close to the best looking. Maybe it's the history. I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!

Why should Buck get swept back into their own forum. It doesn't have to be Spyderco and Benchmade all the time in General.

I love buck. I love my 55 (1/2 size 110) and my Bantam. Great for the price, quality blades, no-nonsense design (usually) and beauty on the Folding Hunter 110.

:D

I love the looks of their new yellow handled stockman. Might just have to get one and see if it can bump the Boker from my pocket.

I like Buck knives too. They have some great knives, priced very competitively. Nothing wrong with liking an American company with a great warranty.

It is hard for me to say anything bad about Buck. The 110 was my first big folder well over 40 years ago and mine is still a great knife 40+ years later. I also have a few of their slipjoints that have held up just as well for almost as long.

On a modern note, I think the Mayo collaborations are something to strongly consider if you are looking for that type of knife. I am sure there are others in their line that are also worth considering.

As far as moving the thread somewhere. It is a good thing to have a good mix in General, so I do not move too many threads out of here that are about knives (not buying and selling, but actual discussion.) :)

I love Buck knives.
My cousin who hunts elk, caribou, deer, turkeys, boar.... you name it. Would not trade his 112 folding lockback for any knife. He has cleaned 11 deer with it between sharpenings, and it still shaves hair.
I am so glad they are making knives in the USA too.

Why Buck knives?

Better question: WHY NOT??? :p

Buck knives and SAKs are pretty much the most ubiquitous knives I can think of. They must be doing something right to be going strong for this long.

I have been wanting a Waimea but the $170 price tag has kept me away. I'm looking forward to the Mini Vantage Pro though.

My favorites are the fixed blade hunting and outdoor knives. Have a 119 Special and would like to add a General, Woodsman, and Pathfinder. Prices are reasonable, build quality is very good, and I find them aesthetically pleasing.

Buck has a rich history, and has some enduring designs that have stood the test of time. My favorite Bucks of all time are the 110 Hunter and the 120 General. I also enjoy the 301 stockman as a utility knife. I have a few Custom Shoppe 110s that are among my very favorite knives. Here's one:

They're not sleek looking, and not of the modern ilk that so many like today but it's just plain hard to beat a Buck 110, 112, 119, or 120. They are good, solid, knives.

Of course the Buck 110 wasn't the first ever locking, folding, knife but it certainly stepped up the popularity of lock-back knives 100%.

If I could only have one folding knife it would be either a Buck 110 or a Buck 112.
