About 3 Weeks ago I purchased a knife from a custom maker (A well known maker!) and don't what to do since I still haven't recieved the knife. Now I don't want to be a ballbuster about it because said maker has had a few issues as of late. When I talked to him he told me he had the knife in stock and would be shipping it out on the following day which was a Friday. My credit card was charged and that didn't appear to be the problem. When I called him I got a machine and left a message and haven't heard back yet so I called back today and it just rang and rang and rang. So now I'm stuck because I really want the knife, I really liked the maker and we even shot the sh!t about all kinds of different sh!t when I called to order it. Bottem line is I just don't know how I should handle this situtation...any advice?

Ask this question over in the ShopTalk or Community areas. It comes up frequently enough. If the maker has been having problems with one or more other buyers - helps to let the whole group know.

That said, I would strongly consider having your bank or VISA reverse the charge. If you have lost all faith in the transaction and want to get out of it no matter what - that's the way to go.

Otherwise, give it a little more time and effort before you give up on it. Sometimes stuff happens. Ever felt that way?

Since you say it is a well-known maker, do a search here on bladeforums and see if anyone else is taking issue with that maker - if so, join in on the thread.

Hope it works out for the best.

Dan

Thanks for the input. Yes, there is actually a post from the maker on this forum. Except the one I ordered was one that he still had! lol I feel bad bitching about this but I just want to make sure if it was sent that it didn't get lost. That's all...I don't mind a wait just want an status update.

I guess it's your money so it's up to you to decide.

If you have only called twice and talked once. I'd call at least another time like in the evening when the maker might be home.

However, again if it was me, and I got a chance to talk to in person again. I'd ask right out where the knife is and if you get any kind of non satisfactory answer hang up and call the CC company.

If it is the man in question I think if you read his website it says he will be in the jungle for the month of may, check the jungle adventure portion of the site I too am waiting for one of his blades but he still had to make the model I am after, you might wanna check his site though. Lemme know Jeyr.
