Any one get bitten by their clip? Apparently the Byrd Crossbill's clip can take a chunk out of you, it did me. I happen to have it clipped to my right pocket and as I was sitting down in to my favorite game chair, my thumb some how got scrapped very hard by the clip of the crossbill and now I'm missing a chunk of skin (about half an inch long, nearly a 1/4 inch wide) over my thumb... this never happen to me before with any other knife and I can't believe it actually happen to me with this one. Akkk I must be retarded or something. In anycase I have now switched over to my Ti-lite which has a lower profile clip.

P.S. I have a full metal crossbill, not the G-10 version. I wonder how the G-10's clip looks like.

If you dont want that crossbill i would very gladly take it off your hands...
But if the clip is that dangerous, then i'm gonna have to check all of mine to be sure this wont happen to me to. Scary.

I happen to have my G10 Crossbill in my back pocket now, and the clip edges are sharp. It looks like a Benchmade clip, except a little longer with the middle cut out in a long groove/hole. I'd noticed the sharp edges before but hadn't thought much of it as hadn't noticed any adverse effects. Now that you've worried me, I will have to modify it! Thanks for another project...I already took the crap paint off the clip and flame anodized it. It was fun, and now I get to do it again after I Dremel/file/send the edges.

I have hooked skin of my thumb with several clips on knives in the right pocket. I am what health experts like to call "girthy" maybe that is why. But this is not unique to any one brand of knife clip.

Actually, we call them overweight (BMI 25 - 30) or obese (BMI 30.1+). ;)

Just messing with ya. My undergrad was in exercise science. I am also soon to be certified by the ACSM as a Health Specialist.
