I Dont Like this One

The shields themselves are original Schrade items, but the knives are not. Attaching those shields to Taylor-contracted knives was completely inappropriate and done with the intent of deceiving buyers and ripping people off.

Its hard (maybe impossible) to come to any other conclusion, a USA made 100 year sheild does not belong on that knife. How could anyone do that with impunity.

Maybe if the shield read Two Month Anniversary. ;)

Here is the same deal, surplus anniversary tins and shields being used to sell Taylor-China import Old Timers. Disgusting and shameless.

It's obvious to semi-serious collectors that this knife has absolutely nothing to do with the Imperial Schrade Corporation's 100th Anniversary. But I bet a lot of casual buyers were ripped off.

And that shield makes it the Ugliest Old Timer ever. I can't stress enough that capital U. I didn't like the real 100 year Old Timers either, but this one. :barf:

Yes they should learn to spell ! When i first starting collecting SCHRADES I used to spell it as SHRADE when I typed this in to ebay US search only 10 or 15 SHRADES would appear, as you can imagine i thought they were very rare. When I eventually learned to spell it as SCHRADE 1500 or more of them would appear, you can imagine how pleased I was.
Ever since then I occasionally check on the SHRADES AND THE SCARADES AND THE SCRADES on ebay there is usually a few of them.
LOL

I have but one word for you regarding spelling and EBAY
(and a nice "tip" to possible "steals"??)======>

Thanks, will have to look into that one more later. I think we all have our own little secrets/ideas for looking for what we want. I like to check for things that are CLOSE to what I'm looking for. Once found an auction advertising "4 LB1's, one broken". Opened it up, and included in the 4 was a like new USA made LB2. Got the whole mess for like $26. I also like to go to "newly listed" and check the "Buy it now" listings to see if there is a deal out there that hasn't been snatched up yet. Got a USA 24OTX NIB that way last night. May have paid a little too much for it ($40.00 +postage), not sure, but it's the only one I've ever seen on ebay, so I grabbed it. Of course, I haven't been looking for the OTX's for too long, so it may be more common than I think.

Dave, the 24OTX was a special order item for Wal-Mart. They were shipped in fairly small quantities in late 2003 to early/mid 2004. So it was a fairly short run and they are an uncommon find as compared to long term production patterns. And black and brass is attractive. Let me know if you get a 152OTX. The varient was offered to Wal-Mart and they declined to order it. Only the proto and perhaps some samples were made. After the auction, United's Arrowhead plant picked up the design for their Harley Davidson branded knives. Those are the
Sharpfinger-esque" blanks you are seeing on eBay right now. They are not Schrade blanks, no matter what the sellers claim.
