I Don't Understand.....!

As humans, we are, above all, adaptable! If the grip of a gun or knife doesn't fit, so what? Adapt or adjust your grip. Why spend megabucks searching for that (never to be found) perfect knife or gun that you will never find?

I've found the perfect knife...

... a couple hundred times. :D

Humans like anything else are quite adaptable, and can make up the differences for compromise, but there are limits. Good tools including knives and firearms need to be comfortable in the hand and correct for the body to use safely and efficiently.

there are two ways to look at this little statement:

First, you are right we should just get by with what we got.

Second, and more importantly, don't come to a place where people have a love for knives and/or guns then take a huge dump on the idea of choice in said forum.

I personally love a bunch of different knives and guns, when asked (and sometimes, like now, when not asked) I'll chime in that a SW MP45 fits my hand better than most any other pistol, or that when I hold a Big knife it just feels better than a small knife, those are just truths that I hold near and dear.

As for collecting and not using, who cares, it's personal preference man. We trade fake money for weapons we never use to hurt other people with but look cool just in case, it's societal.

Well, good news. I found Old CW4's gear. :D

Hey, I could make that work, 'cause if I'm anything I'm adaptable...though I'd be happier with a Rogers and Spencer and a Sheffield Bowie.:D

People always comment that the mountain men made do with a butcher knife and the same rifle for years on end. They were out in the middle of nowhere and didn't have the opportunity to stop at the local outdoor store :D. UPS didn't deliver out west then :D.

I've found the perfect knife and perfect gun several times. I think I need to find the perfect woman, who would probably tell me I don't need to look for anymore guns or knives :D. :o

What I need to do is buy myself a truck, not knives. However, I can't wait until the new Case/Bose collaboration for this year; a ZT 301; a Strider SNG CC green scale; Gossman Deer Creek-----you see, it's madness I tell you, sheer madness.

A gun is a device that launches bullets and a knife is a simple 'machine' consisting of a piece of sharp metal combined with some kind of handle so you can cut, carve, stab, or whatever. Why agonize about blade shapes, types of steel, handles, and on an on? If that piece of metal on a stick holds an edge for a reasonable amount of time to enable carving, skinning, etc., why endlessly agonize about make, model, style, and on and on?

Please face it, folks, a knife is a piece of sharp metal on a stick

To me, these two comments answer the OP's question. They are very different motivations that can condemn us to the same fate: perpetual pursuit of the Holy Grail. Except in the case of Lazydog1 and his rifle.

I have owned a particular hunting rifle since 1980. When I shoulder it the motion and fit is a glorious experience. Other rifles have come and gone. I adapted to them and they were accurate, but they just didn't have that 'magic'.
