I dont want to work anymore.

Trust me, we all feel your pain! I've been very lucky though, I can carry pretty much any tool or blade on me at work, even into our office. The installers that work for me are always walking around the office with all kinds of blades, small hatchets, carpet kickers. If you've never seen the end of a knee kicker for carpet it looks like a tool of torture from the middle ages. There's knives sitting everywhere throughout the office. If someone was to walk back into the operations area that didn't work there at the right time of day they might really freak out.

The thing to remember is: "There's only one thing worse than work - that's not having a job!" :D

Happy New Year!

Doc

a good friend of mine just got a job as hiking/hunting guide, the bastard, now he gets to carry all the knifes he wants, and play in the bush all day and get paid for it.

Where abouts are you in AB? I'm down in Medicine Hat, so if you're ever down in that area, lemme know!

One day in 2006, I came into work and the usual worthless dirtbags that cannot be fired due to their special protected status were having their loud morning hut meeting. I knew I'd go postal if I stayed there one more effing day. I had quietly put in my retirement papers and applied for leave. I was the boss! I turned in the morning payroll and I never returned! It felt so good, and now I get my little retirement check. There is hope, if you endure a while. :D

I won't even get started on this topic, but I'll say this much and leave it alone. I don't have an aversion to working, but I do have and aversion to my current job. I don't care for my job and hope to ditch it in the coming year.

What I do hate is money. It's not real, it's nothing more than a concept in the end. It only has as much meaning as we give it, but far too often, it's given far too much meaning and importance, and that almost always leads to bad things. In the end, money is how we keep score I guess. Can't stand it personally.

I'm often chastised for not taking jobs that could pay me more. But honestly, I've just never had that lust for money. I'd just rather be happy at what I'm doing for a living regardless of the pay.

I truly understand your plights I hate my job too. I am thankful to have one but I am bored out of my mind with my job. I have many skills and a college education but all I can find at the moment is armed security work which is boring for the most part. I desire a job in which I feel that what I do makes a difference in the world. I am applying for law enforcement, child protection and disaster relief jobs as soon as the holidays are over.

It used to be that there were'nt any good jobs out there, just a few steady ones. Problem is, that's not even the case anymore! We're getting to where we have to just take what we can get and just try to hold onto it. Things are continuing to change and not necessarily for the better. You have plenty of company, I assure you!

Just be happy that you can actually carry a knife at work. I'm a lawyer, and if I have a knife on me (any knife), I can get kicked out of court! I HATE taking my Sebenza and Izula off to "go to work."

Why do so many people have such an innate fear of knives?

I agree with Old Physics. Our DNA is not happy with our current path, and by default neither are we. We are hunter/gatherers. But I digress.

Find a new job, perhaps as a surveyor or forest service. One that allows you to indulge your passion. Perhaps even the military or L.E. Life is too short to endure a lifetime of misery for monetary gain. It will leave you angry and miserable in the long run anyway. Money while important, is no where near as important as a happy fulfilled life doing what you want.

Plan your departure. Reduce your debt. Focus on what is truly important to you. Just those small steps will help you feel more in control of your life. It's not your boss's job to make you happy it's yours.

Today is a great day to plan a new start!
