I enjoy sharpening my own knives. What about you?

The 20cv was on a 940, I think the main issue was the thick blade stock.

I got so used to M4, that everything seemed to cause me trouble for a bit. Hell, I about threw a knife in D2 in the trash a couple months ago I was so heated. I'm back on my "A"game though.

Zdp seemed to want insanely light pressure, a very small burr formation will save you as well.

That makes sense. I went from S30V to M390 and M390 seemed like a breeze in comparison. That's human nature for ya.

I was just curious because I haven't had any knives in 20CV yet and I just expected it to act like M390.

Thanks for the extra info though, it definitely sheds some light on my question.

I would rather have someone else sharpen my blades due to the time it takes to set up, sharpen, take down and clean up. The only time I enjoy sharpening is when an interesting stone such as the Suehiro Taiga catches my attention and the need to understand its characteristics takes precedence over my laziness. For the record, I dislike diamond (I do have Atoma plates) and only use SP and SPS II stones these days.

I love sharpening knives. The different steels are very challenging. It takes awhile to get a good system for each steel. At least for me. And the only way to speed that up is to do a lot of it.
