So i took my sebbie apart to clean it for the first time and accidentally dropped the washer from the non locking side down the drain. I'm trying to get it out but it does not look like that'll happen Is it possible for me to order a replacement from the company? I feel so dumb right now for not closing the drain all the way. grr

yeah you can get the new peforated washers if you don't already have them. i'm not sure how much they cost though; i'd send heather an email.

thanks for the help guys. I opened up the pipe and the washer fell out. No need to buy a new washer or sink parts now. woohoo

Glad you were able to find it...........CRK does not send out washers. They have to be fitted to the sebenza and you have to send it to them to do this. I am not sure about the cost, but it cant be much. You will have way more in shipping too and from than the washer would cost. If you were going to do all this, might as well send her to the spa........Since you found the washer, Your Good To Go !!!

I do know one thing, you will be more careful next time....lol. I clean mine on the kitchen table, not over the sink. My wife hates knives, so I have to do it at night :)

I lost a brand-new small Regular Sebenza in a major lake here in Virginia two weeks ago. Wish I could drain the lake to get it back!

Alas, it was not meant to be for me and this particular Sebenza.

Glad you got your washer back.

Maybe you could trawl with a big magnet?

Ah, no telling where I lost it. I was jetskiing with my Son sitting in front of me, and all the bouncing around caused it to pop out from where I'd clipped small Seb's a million times.

Expensive come, easy go. Right? :)

In all seriousness, even as much as we think we'll never accidentally lose our EDC (second one I've lost in 30 years), when you live by the sword, you must be prepared to either die by the sword, or lose the sword by being a dumba$$ while carrying it on your person against your own better judgement.

I know I would be sick losing any knife, especially a CRK. Heck, I lost mis SAK earlier in the week for 2 days and was sick over that. I am still mad my ex wife threw away my spyderco pro-grip that I had had for 10 years during the divorce just to be even more of a bitch....lol.

Ah, it happens.

I'd be more sick over it if my Seb had been stolen or confiscated for some silly reason. At least this way, I know it may become an artifact to future civilizations and/or aliens. :)

i temporarily lost my large sebbie in the lake. it was late april and i was watching the ice move out on the water... then i heard the familiar keplunk!! i hesitated for about 2.5 seconds before i took off my shoes and dove down 8 feet to get her. the water was not very warm. 33 degrees to be exact (i measured it later in the day so i could acurately tell this story) i am now very careful where i bring my knives.

My large Classic was confiscated in NYC. It did make me feel sick and kick my own butt for being so retarded to risk losing it. Lesson learned. :(

dang nyef. good choice in knives, but seriously bad choices in women...

:D

I took my 'zaan apart 2 weeks ago, got distracted by my 3 y/old daughter, thought I had put all parts into a zip lock bag for later reassembly only to return to my project, 2 days later than I had planned due to the arrival of family members, to find that the washers were nowhere to be found. I finally determined that they didn't make it out of the shop towel I had been using to rub them clean on and were then thrown in the trash, which was taken away the next day.
The only solution was to send the, now incomplete, knife back to CRK for new washers along with my story.

I understand them not sending out washers, for any number of reasons. But having to "fit" washers to specific individual Sebenzas, Umnums, Mnandi makes no sense to me. I'm not saying you're incorrect, only that I don't understand why/how each washer or knife is like a snowflake. Wouldn't all the knives and their parts have to be standardized for production and financial reasons?... especially CRK knives, which are known for precise tolerances?

Your posts are right on. EDC stuff gets "worn" eventually and, yes, there is the risk of loss. That is inherent in the EDC role, unfortunately. :(

Did you get underneath and unscrew the cap on the pipe? Anytime I've dropped anything down the drain it has usually ended up just sitting in there.
Good luck :)

I agree with you here. I own and carry a couple of small sebbie. Shipping your folder just to fit washers seems to be too much.
