I field tested my ZT 350 today…..WOW.

Im not sure what bluesummers was going for but I took it as a pics or it didn't happen comment. Idk that was just me.

Funny how somethings strike me funny and I don't mean HaHa funny, I mean Holy Crap some people can really be ignorant these days funny.
Anybody that knows a real "FarmBoy" knows a couple things.
Farmfolk don't lie.
Farmfolk don't take pics of work tasks and they sure don't take pictures of tools.
I'm surprised we got the benefit of the story, that took time and time is precious and scarce on the farm.
"We" on the internet sometimes seem to forget our manners (assuming there were some in place to lose).
Where I'm from, calling a man a liar gets you in a heap of trouble pretty quick, not a minor thing BUT alas the internet IS a different world that is for sure.
So, to FarmBoy - Thanks for your story and good luck with that knife. As for needing a Pic to substantiate anything to anybody I think you said it best. Jerk it, I think it was.....

Good to hear she held up. I used to routinely use a CRKT Tanto M16 for cutting stubborn roots and prying crud when I was landscape foreman. Mostly because it was in my pocket - sure I had access to pick axes and spades but they don't fit in my jeans well and their was no rack for them on the skidsteer.

On a side note: aren't you farmboys supposed to use Sodbusters for that type of stuff?

I farm part time here in central Iowa, and I was doing some fall tillage on some soybean ground today with a 24' tandem disc. (Basically, it's 4 gangs of saucer shaped steel blades, pulled through the soil in tandem.)

Today, I was in a back 40, and I plugged up two blades with mud and soybean straw, making the whole machine ineffective. The 100 pound hard packed ball of mud and hard straw had to to be hacked and pried out. I usually use a crowbar or tire iron, along with a garden spade. Today, half an our from the shop, and one of the very few times I ever remember, I had no tools. None. No screwdriver, no wrenches, no chain, and no crowbar. Not even a pair of pliers.

Out came the 350. Reluctantly, I hacked, wedged and pried the 100 pound ball of crap out of the blades with that knife. I know that knives aren't sharpened pry bars. But I needed one, and all I had was the 350.

Man I LEANED on that thing. HARD. 175 pounds of short, chubby, pissed off farmboy, doing his best to get the rig going, whether I broke the knife or not. I scraped it up pretty good. I dulled it down big time. But after a scrubbing, a little oil, and some time on the sharpmaker, It's back in shape and ready to go. Unbelievable.

It will be in my pocket tomorrow, and for a long time to come. This knife is awesome.

Thanks for the great story on your ZT, Farmboy. I am guessing after that, you are pretty much married to that knife. ;)

Great story... glad to see the 350 went above and beyond for you in your time of need. A real testament to what they are doing over there at Kershaw/ZT. I had a 200 and loved it.. but was just too damn big to get normal use out of.. ZT makes beasts for sure.

I absolutely enjoyed your exploits with your 0350! What a gr8 knife, I have one as well. I like you farmboy have been in a spot without proper tools and put my knife into action not deemed appropriate by the standards of others---the way I look at it is if I need something for the job and I don't have that specific tool I'll improvise and make what I have work for me---that's what you did and many would've done the same.

It's nice to hear that the knife held up well and you got the job done---your not makin money sittin in the cab:D

Looks like the guy in that vid is humping the 2x4, but thats how city boys pry things I hear. Thanks for reinforcing my trust in the 350, I got one coming my way.
