I finally get it.

My first Paramilitary 2 (black/satin) arrived in the mail today and I finally get what the fuss is all about. This knife is nearly perfect. The low weight, solid construction, zero blade play, large blade, keen edge, supreme ergos, wicked fast deployment....I could go on and on. I can't wait to put this wonder through its paces. I'm officially a full convert to Spyderco (started with my receiving my first, a Delica 4, a few weeks back). I owe it all to bladeforums that I finally stopped buying inferior (oftentimes more expensive) blades in search of the perfect EDC.

I'm so in love!

P.S. Where is the best place to find a bit to change the pocket clip around? I have a large bit set at home but none are small enough to fit. I don't want to strip any screws. Thanks for the help.

I've broken some cheapo torx wrenches on loc tited screws. Get some wiha from their online site, they're hardened steel.

What size are the Torx screws on the clip?

I'm guessing they'd be a T-6, given that all my Spyderco Knives but two use that bit size for their clip screws, and the two that do not use a wire clip anyway. Sorry, I don't own a Paramilitary 2, so I can't tell you for sure!

Search for "Husky 8 in 1 Torx Screwdriver Set" and "Kobalt 8 in 1 Torx Screwdriver Set" on Amazon, then buy whichever one is cheaper for you (I'm in Canada so prices might be different). They're basically the same, and they work great.

Thanks. I purchased a wrench with various bits. I'm sure I'll be doing some swapping. I get when people post pics of their Para2s they almost always have siblings in the photos. I already want one of every color and configuration. I won't make the mistake of missing a sprint again! I love this knife!

Glad you like your Para2! I had pretty much the same reaction upon getting my first one! :)

The clip is indeed a T6. You can get a Husky torx driver with, I think 4 bits (2 sizes per bit) at Home Depot for $5. Good investment!

The only Para-Military I'd even want to carry would be one of the two titanium versions... I'm a little tired of textured G10 handles at the moment. Still, they look like great users.

I think it's one of the best +/- $100 EDC's available today - I finally bumped my Southard after a couple months straight, yesterday and started carrying my Digi Camo PM2 again. What a fantastic EDC.

If you had asked me two months ago, I would have agreed, but since owning a FFG Manix 2, I've fallen off the Para 2 wagon. It isn't quite as light and it carries a little wider in the pocket, but the ergos fit my hand better and gripping behind the choil is MUCH better IMO. Still it's a tough choice between the two for which gets carried.

Congratz, there is no turning back now ;) You're caught in the spyders web! It'll just keep restricting your funds with each purchase.
Oh and the pocket clips are T6
Body/Stand off Screws a T8 seems to fit fine
The pivot is a T10

Thanks for the screw info. I'm so pumped I finally feel like I can stop looking for a bit. Now I can focus on learning how to sharpen and maintain my knives.

If you happen to have a Harbor Freight near you, they've got a great little folding Torx tool that has several drivers in one Swiss Army-ish handle and it'll run you about $6. A nice bonus is that the drivers are also compatible with security Torx bits.

I used to have one of the original 2005 vintage Paramilitary models in SE and it was truly a demolition blade all the way. I also had one about that old in PE and I dearly miss both of them. I will admit that I use bigger blades most of the time and the 2 Military models I currently have get substantial use. But I will say that the Paramilitary and it's big brother both are top notch folders>> you can't go wrong with either model. I just wish they would bring both of them back in foll SE.

The one Para I had at that time was one of the black-bladed models and it was a beauty. I'll probably snag me a Para 2 before the summer. I just wish they would do a Sprint of them in something else besides S30V.

^^ They have done tons of Spyderco Para 2 sprints.
Blue - M390
Orange - CTS-XHP
Brown - s35vn
Carbon Fiber - s90v
Grey - CTS-20CP
Green - CTS-204P

And they did the original Paramilitary in Foliage Green and D2.

Welcome to being a Spyderknut Deputy.

great knife! i bought a small torx set made for electricians from canadian tire

The paramilitary two is what started my whole "high end" thing. My wallet hates the paramilitary 2 for starting this "problem". It for sure put me into a spyderco frenzy I think my next 4 knives were spydercos.
